Black Panther Appreciation: Wakanda Forever!

Where are all the black males in this franchise?

Who aren't dead.
Turned evil.
Beaten up by Toad.
That have actually done something besides stand in the background.

Where is Prodigy at? Still with America? When he's not getting chumped out by Antman.

And what is up with yet another story with a black male and domestic violence? What the Midnight Angels forgot to get this guy while disrespecting the king?

these are all great points and I think these are all valid questions.

It goes beyond that, the whole division needs to be dumped and left to air out completely. There are no fresh innovative ideas coming from them at all! They cycle through the same 8 characters, mand pole ride 'em to death.

I think it would be better if it was even more subtle.

As in, he acts just like "normal" panther, except every once in awhile he starts singing for no reason or lets out a HAHAHAHA.

So, real panther fans are like, "wait a fucking second... is that happy pants?" and the mystery goes on for a handful fo issues while others are just like, "why is tchalla acting weird" lol

Of course, the back up story would be, "where the hell is 616T'challa" and you can do a lot of cool stuff with that. Hell, he could be trapped in the Djalia or something after using the stones, being guided by Bast and his ancestors.


You could easily do a Secret Empire esque story, without the fan backlash because you wouldn't be "making cap a nazi," while spotlighting a character that doesn't get much of it. Even ends the same way in a sense... BP vs BP... T'challa hits him so hard (flash back ot priest panels) that it sets off Happy Pants aneurysm and kills him.

It would also reset the status quo a bit for Black Panther, which is what Marvel loves to do anyway. The world and even super heroes would go back to distrusting him a bit, not being sure what the plans on plans dude is up to. People would re-hate Wakanda, governments woudl be scared of Wakanda, ect.

You could have certain sections of wakanda that loved the blood thirstiness of happy pants, similar to the Border tribe in the movies.

I really like this idea. And it's a way to explain away all the BS that Tchalla has gone through, while being a way to kick off an event like arc that ends with T'Challa looking like a boss

I just want Gentle to be killed off already. He’s just another tool for the X office to throw shade on T’Challa and Wakanda and what’s worse is that he now has greater use thanks to the BP franchise being run by a guy that openly hates T’Challa and will throw shade at him at every chance he gets.

Yeah, but that's like Reed being able to cure the Thing or Bruce being able to cure the Hulk. You don't want to give tragic heroes easy way out. They just have to live with the burden, and that's part of what makes them heroes.

Except Gentle is nowhere near as interesting as Thing or Hulk so suppressing his gene and letting him live and normal life would be doing a great service for people in and out of the Marvel universe. The less BS from the X-Franchise we have in Black Panther the better.

Given how bad things got with mutants around this time I honestly don't think any parent in their right mind would send their kids to Xaviers.

Actually, during the Priest era avengers, T'challa actually did some stuff.

That Ultron story was during that time where he got some dagger and tracking feats. (not much but better than Roy era).

Then Red Zone was priest T'challa.

It would make sense if the mom gave birth abroad and gave him up for adoption. Then she had a family and Tchalla brought him home after running across him at some point.
