    Default Spectacular Spider-men 2 Preview

    https://monkeysfightingrobots.co/mar...-spider-men-2/

Looking forward even if a certain BND character rear her ugly head as a cameo but fortunately Peter didn't even bother saying hi to her and talk to the other cop who I think is the detective from Tom Taylor Friendly Neighborhood run outside the police station. Good, I like her better.

Well, he wasn't even in the room, so he couldn't say hi even if he felt like it. That said, I will agree with you in wanting to see more of Detective Sebbens as an ally or friend on the force for the Spider-Men.

Wow, bringing together Spider-Man supporting characters that you would naturally expect to interact with each other considering professions. Oh, and Jane Foster .

I hope Weisman writes Peter more maturely in this one.

Same here. He did great, ironically, with a teenage Peter in Spectacular Spider-Man, so . . .

I like Detective Stebbens better too, and it's good to see a Spider-man writer who has clearly read and taken note of Taylor's run; but I think Spencer's run did a decent job of turning Carlie Cooper into a workable member of the supporting cast.
(I do not think that in the real world a doctor with Jane Foster's specialisms would be called upon to talk about forensic pathology, but that's comics for you. Everyone with a scientific background is a multidisciplinary genius.)

I didn't think Weisman would be avoiding Brand New Day characters, for better or worse. Spectacular Spider-Man had a couple of characters in very minor cameos and he's been interested in Mr. Negative as a character. But yeah, this felt like a harmless cameo.

I'm wondering if the man running from the creatures is the reverse of the weird transitions from the previous issue.

I knew Peter was rubbing a bit on Miles when Miles started cracking bad jokes in the previous issue, but now he even inherited Peter's lateness as well.

Is that Vermin in the sewers? I know Jackal is the main villain, but he could whip up a couple Vermin monsters easily. Armin Zola did.

Stebbens was probably the best thing to come out of Taylor's run outside the MJ issue, Aunt May story, and the fantasy issue.

Carlie is at her best when they lean into her job, which is pretty much the most interesting thing about her.

Meanwhile Jane Foster is literally the best at everything. That's her whole character .

Could be. Vermin did develop the ability to duplicate himself in Nick Spencer's ASM.

A short voiced scene, with Josh Keaton again as Peter and Zeno Robinson as Miles.

It doesn't quite match up to The Boy who Collected Spider-man, but it justifies its existence in a world that already has The Boy Who Collected Spider-man. (Also, points for trying to emulate The Boy Who Collected Spider-man rather than Nobody Can Stop Kraven's Last Death of Jean de Carnage.)

Weird because I always hear comic Miles with Nadji Jeter's voice.

But I guess Weisman didn't work with Nadji in YJ and Zeno's a good VA so ...

Me too! Though at the same time, I'd feel weird hearing Nadji's Miles without Yuri Lowenthal's Peter....even though he was also a Miles to Robbie Daymond's Peter.
