Did you have plans to add Songbird and Genis to the Avengers roster while you were scribe? I think that they were the breakout characters of Avenger Forever and many readers would have liked to have seen them on the team.
The idea was they'd have joined in the future. Had I stayed on AVENGERS long enough, I expect it'd have happened, but we didn't have concrete plans for how or when.

Hey Kurt, would you come back to Marvel and write a book if CB Cebulski asked you to? If they gave you the option to write any character or team book with no editorial limitations or mandates.

I have a question for Mr. Busiek. Who are your all time favorite comic book characters?

    Mr. Busiek, would you contribute to several one-shots in 2018, regarding the 55th anniversary celebration of the marvel characters and teams;

    Tony Stark
    Doctor Strange
Janet van Dyne, the Winsome Wasp
    The Avengers, earth's mightiest super-heroes!
The X-Men, the strangest super-heroes of all!

Not at present -- I'm way too far behind on the deadlines I have to take on new things.

But in the future? I have no idea. There are certainly books I'd have fun with, although they'd probably mostly be out of continuity...

I don't really keep a list of that sort of thing, but Hawkeye, Hal Jordan, April Kane, Miz Mamzelle Hepsibah, Spider-Man, Thor, Wonder Woman, Ultra Boy, Poteet Canyon and the dumb Hulk would be high on the list.

I don't really have the time this year, alas.

For a minute I thought you meant Hepzibah of X-Men fame, and got excited about the prospect of one day seeing a "Kurt Busiek's Starjammers" comic!

Omg. I can’t believe my thread was recreated on the new boards! Thanks, Kurt! You’re a truly great creator!

Mr. Busiek, if you had to pick one of your Avengers arcs (art by George Perez) to adapt for an animated feature, which would it be? I'm partial to the Morgan Le Fay "Queen's Vengeance" arc. :-) Plenty of action and it's a way to see the team in the medieval outfits and code names.

    Oh gosh.

I didn't realize how badly I needed this in my life until you mentioned it.

Too bad Marvel Animation has, generally, been lackluster.

Mr. Busiek, could you please tell me just what was going on with the Legion of the Unliving back in their original appearance (the Zemo, Original Human Torch, Frankenstein Monster, Midnight, Wonder Man and Flying Dutchman-Guy team)? Were they the actual characters or doppelgangers? In later years (Byrne) Wonder Man references the event with confusion ('I was dead at the time, wasn't me'), and the Torch doesn't seem to remember meeting the Vision during this time. Was this already explained and I just missed it?

Eagely awaiting the upcoming sequel to 'Nearness'...

I'm just trying to get healthy enough to meet my current deadlines. So probably not, but you never know.
