Cloak and Dagger #1-4
Bill Mantlo and artist Rick Leonardi and Terry Austin gave this popular duo their first solo series in this interesting series.
Below is Cloak & Dagger #1 (Vol.2) published in 1985 and written by Mantlo. If you look just below the Cloak & Dagger logo you can see it says "Created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan".
This issue was a thoughtfully written story that touched on the problems plaguing the mean streets of New York city such as drug abuse, police corruption and child exploitation. This sort of street level narrative that Bill Mantlo explores with Cloak and Dagger seems to imply he wanted to create some public awareness about these social ills that were very much in the real world as well.

Nice thread! I've got one of the C & D MPC collections that came out several years ago. Huge fan of these characters, primarily of their '80's appearances/series.
It looks like there will be at least 2 collections coming out early next year collecting some of their '80's comics - I will probably get both of these.
Is this really the Cloak & Dagger Appreciation thread? Because... OP only made a question...
Cloak & Dagger Tv series got pushed back but does have a showrunner now
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...it-show-945184Then there's Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, ordered straight-to-series in April and now eyed for winter 2018 as showrunner Joe Pokaski (Underground) rewrites his initial script.
Joe Pokaski was a writer and Executive Story Editor on NBC's Heroes.
Pokaski has also written a few comics for Marvel. 2008 miniseries Secret Invasion: Inhumans and a few issues on Ultimate Fantastic Four.
I saw that. I think it's a good thing - make sure things are done right (although it'll matter if Winter 2018 is January or December). I honestly hadn't even heard they got a showrunner until right there, so any news is good news as far as I'm concerned.
In the seven years since this TV project was first proposed at the then ABC Family, I've become skeptical of whether it will really happen. It could be one of those things that get stuck in "development hell" forever, so I'll believe it when I see it.
"Ignore them. They're nothing but a bunch of basement dwellers who spend all day whining on the 'net. Not a single open-minded one in the bunch."
