    really romantic.

even if superman never did these things, the term score is pretty sexist in the context of t-shirt.

now if this was Orion and ww, or batww...the world would end tonight here

No, I always recognized that his behavior was wrong. It's not because I ship him with WW that I will approve his behavior

I don't think people would like a Orion/WW T-shirt with the term Score, Orion hits again right? or superman can get a free pass?
NO! Superman doesn't get a free pass! Any man that treat a woman like a sex object to include SM, i have no respect for!! If SM treated WW the way Orion has, even those I like them together as couple, I wouldn't like him, I would want her too get away from him. One of things I like about SM is the way he treats people, respectful, with kindness, always wanting to help his fellow man or woman. SM treats WW the same way with respect, and kindness. She deserves a man that value her, respect her and will do anything for her. She may not need someone to protect her, I think it ok for SM to want to protect her, it's a sign of his deep feelings for her, she deserves a man that see her as a woman, not just a Goddess and a warrior.

    exaggerated? yeah. offensive? no.

score can mean scoring a hot date, brownie points, a kiss, a new romantic partner ect. people are jumping to conclusions as to it referring to sex when the picture only shows them kissing.

    @blacksun
why would the reverse be okay if this isn't? you just proved my point

steve literally spoke to ww like this with the same undertones yet no one bats an eye. angel? dollface? or my favorite from the 09 movie "man your daughter has a big rack". but the idea of steve and diana isn't warranting pitchforks is it?

because they licensed the characters. if dc would hesitate to let a supes symbol be on someones grave, they sure aren't going to let some random joe use their characters for money without getting a cut.

How does that have anything to do with the actual SM/WW books and its fans though? Because that it the crux of DCwomenkickingass' grouse. One tee shirt is proof why sm/ww is bad and sm/ww fans are bad for liking it?

That offends me more than this tee.

How you got any of that out of my post baffles me. The shirt glorifies a man being a "stud" ... Using WW as the proof point of SuperStud is in poor taste. Just as many would find the reverse "Diana scores again" idea repellent as it would intimate she is a whore. Double standards abound.

i don't see the word stud anywhere so your pulling this from thin air. all your doing assuming the worst case scenario instead of actually considering the context for which these two have been shown.

willful ignorance much? picking up girls is a phrase that has been refferenced in the media to death. show a guy the t shirt and most will immediatly get the play on words used here.

I think the SM/WW shirt is in poor taste, and I'm not fond of the "I'd rather be picking up girls" shirt for SM/LL. It irritates me that this is the quality of merchandise that companies put out, and I think it's fine to express disapproval of this new T-shirt regardless of the existence of other problematic shirts; two wrongs don't make a right. Having said that, I'm an odd type of fan in that I enjoy fiction for the experience of it and have never had any desire to own merchandise featuring the entertainment I enjoy.

at least your consistent... though i don't think either shirt is inherently wrong or offensive based on their context.

Yeah, none of those shirts may be my thing but want to reiterate that it doesn't by any means mean I'd judge anyone who wears any of them. Others will see absolutely nothing else than just a fun shirt. I know that. So I have no reason to get all preachy to anyone about it. Just not for me, s'all.

I love the New 52. I love the dark and grittiness of it and find that is what makes the most enjoyable superhero stories. At the same time I find All Star Superman to be the most depressing Superman story I have ever read. Yeah I'm weird.

Thanks? I will say that what is problematic with the SM/WW shirt is far blatant. Framing Wonder Woman as a conquest Superman "scores" frames her very explicitly as a prize, whereas the variations of picking up Lois or girls is really only describing the process of flirting with or wooing women one finds attractive. The women, and Lois specifically, are not objects or prizes as is true with the SM/WW shirt. It's literally defined in dictionaries as "to attempt to become acquainted with someone for romantic or sexual purposes," and there's nothing wrong with that as long as it's all consensual. Plus, it's also clearly a pun about Superman's habit of flying with or catching Lois.

    I'd judge.

Why not talk about the sexism and problematic nature of those four other T-Shirts? But that would go against the narrative being pushed...and the narrative must be protected at all costs.
Lapsed Clois shippers? To be lapsed would mean they aren't Clois shippers anymore. Just because Clark and Lois aren't dating in the comics at the moment doesn't mean that Clois fans have stopped shipping them, and DCWKA pointed out the problematic shirt because it's problematic. By trying to dismiss criticism by alleging some agenda or making equivalences to other shirts, you're engaging in derailment and employing fallacies. If you can just focus on the shirt itself and say, "Yeah that's in poor taste" or "I can see why some might find that offensive," then that's all you need. An agenda on the part of DCWKA or similarly offensive Clois shirts won't erase the SM/WW shirt's offensiveness.

I never said whether the shirt was or wasn't offensive. What I do find a little suspect is that DCWKA decides to attack one shirt (against a ship it has vehemently been against since day zero), and ignore four others that just happen to fall in line with a pairing it supports. It smells of a double standard and despite what you think it does undermine the legitimacy of the point being raised. You want to call someone on their bull****, fine, then call them on all of their bull, but let's not pretend this is anything other than the newest front in the SM/WW smear campaign DCWKA has been running for the past two years.
