I participated in this X-Jam a while back under the name theX. It was my favorite theme and really got into tooling around in the alternate universe. My assignments were Dr. Nemesis, Cecilia Reyes and Sabretooth. And the alternate universe was called Earth-Rupture.

    Universe: Earth - Rupture

Powers: A "self-evolved" intellect making him a scientific and technological genius. Enhanced and specialized vision that allows him to see over great distances, below the superficial surfaces of organic matter as well as an ability to discern between mutated and non-mutated individuals and detect genetic abnormalities.

Story: This Dr. Nemesis actually originates from the original Earth-616 Universe. In the not too distant future of the 616 Universe, two factions face each other in battle--one led by Scarlett Witch and one led by the Phoenix. It is one of the largest assemblages of mutants in battle the Earth has ever seen--and our Dr. Nemesis is one of the combatants. In the throws of the violence, Scarlett Witch and the Phoenix clash. Throwing their powers at one another and locking each other in attack, the energy builds. The sheer size of this energy is astronomical and as it escalates it begins to effect the fabric of time and space. No longer able to contain the force, Universe 616 bulges and rips into a nearby reality, venting the energy--taking the form of a massive explosion. This event will be known as the Rupture.

In this colossal release, nearly half of the mutant soldiers were pulled into Earth-Rupture. Dr. Nemesis is one of these mutants. The universe Earth-Rupture was nearly identical to Earth-616, mutants and all. And for every mutant from 616 that fell into Earth-Rupture, their alternate versions were pushed into Earth 616. Unfortunately for all involved, the explosion killed some and maimed the rest. In the bright flash of the Rupture, Dr. Nemesis managed to pull a forearm over his eyes and the next thing he knew, he had landed on the ground of Earth-Rupture, his body broken.

For days, the mutants laid in soot and dust, the injured dying and the dead decaying. Dr. Nemesis managed to inject himself and a few others around him with a powerful concoction of medication using his hypodermic gun before falling unconscious. When he awoke, he was in an underground lab headed by the Earth-Rupture mutant Forge. He had lost both arm and leg on his left side, a huge portion of his torso and his skull had been shattered. Forge was barely able to keep him alive. For months, Forge worked to heal the parts of Dr. Nemesis that could be healed and replace the parts of Dr. Nemesis that could be replaced. In the end, nearly 50% of Dr. Nemesis' body had been lost.

Nearly a year after the Rupture, Dr. Nemesis was on his feet. But Forge's enhancements weren't good enough for Dr. Nemesis and he began work to replace all that Forge had done. Splitting his time between his new goal and aiding Forge in the rehabilitation of other mutants from the Rupture, Dr. Nemesis began research and development. Being the super-genius that he is, it was only a matter of months until he became the Dr. Nemesis we see now.

Dr. Nemesis serves as medic to the Earth-Rupture X-Men. However, Nemesis' objective is the recovery and rehabilitation of other mutants that had been pulled through by the Rupture and eventually finding a way home.

    Dr. Nemesis' enhancements:

Every inch of artificial skin has been replaced by a bio-metal that he modeled after Colossus' own power.
Left leg and arm are the most advanced prosthetics to ever exist and also serve as housing for an internalized science lab.
Left arm ends in an sophisticated delivery mechanism akin to his hypodermic guns.
Right eye has been recreated and vision restored as a multi-plane visor that allows him to see in all directions at once.

    Universe: Earth - Rupture

Powers: the generation of a "psioplasmic bio-field" around her body that grants her resistance to both physical and energy attacks. This field is activated subconsciously whenever she is threatened but can be consciously formed into primitive shapes that she can use as weapons.

Story: This Cecilia Reyes actually originates from the original Earth-616 Universe. In the not too distant future of the 616 Universe, two factions face each other in battle--one led by Scarlett Witch and one led by the Phoenix. It is one of the largest assemblages of mutants in battle the Earth has ever seen--and Cecilia Reyes, an admitted pacifist and skilled surgeon, is one of the combatants.

Cecilia Reyes is one of these mutants. The universe Earth-Rupture was nearly identical to Earth-616, mutants and all. And for every mutant from 616 that fell into Earth-Rupture, their alternate versions were pushed into Earth 616. Cecilia Reyes was one of very few involved to be spared any physical injury, many were killed and the rest were maimed.

Before Reyes even had time to register the explosion, her powers had kicked in--enveloping her body in a nigh-impenetrable force-field. A wave of radiation swept outwards as the explosion perforated the barriers between Earth 616 and Earth-Rupture. Everyone was exposed to this potent energy, including Reyes. The sheer strength of this radiation pushed Cecilia's powers to their very limit. Tendrils of toxic energy moved between the atoms of her bio-field, but she managed to throw layer upon layer of blockade against it. Some flickers of the radiation made it through and Cecilia Reyes' hair turned a shock of white.

Cecilia Reyes landed on her feet in Earth-Rupture, surrounded by the bodies of the dead and shattered survivors. But she herself had been broken. The trauma of the Rupture, both mental and physical, had caused Cecilia to become unhinged. Her powers would not turn off as she wandered away, disoriented, from the battleground. Reyes stumbled into a hospital (her past profession as a doctor guiding her there) and collapsed. As nurses put her on a gurney, she slipped into a coma. Proper medical procedures were attempted, but thanks to her perpetually activated powers, not even an IV could be administered. So she lay there, passing between hospitals and care facilities, comatose in an effective cocoon of her own power's making.

More than a year passed before she was awakened. She had been one of the first mutants tracked down by an unrecognizable Dr. Nemesis. She was a special case for him, because in order to pull her out of her coma, he had to make it past her bio-field. So he worked on her for months, developing technology meant to penetrate her defenses. And when he finally made it through he was amazed that she was in perfect health. She had undergone a kind of stasis, with no need to eat or drink. She awoke soon after with no memory of the battle or the Rupture save for one fleeting image--her standing in a field full of ash and bodies. At that moment, she decided that her duty lay in protecting and healing her fellow mutants, so that no other person will have to stand where she stood.

Cecilia Reyes serves as member, medic and chief medical doctor of the Earth-Rupture X-Men. She has no desire to return to Earth 616.

    Universe: Earth - Rupture

Powers: superhuman senses, speed and strength, an accelerated healing factor. A skeleton that has been infused with the near-indestructable alloy known as Adamantium.

Story: This Sabretooth originates from the original Earth-616 universe. In the not too distant future of the 616 universe, two factions face each other in battle--one led by Scarlett Witch and one led by the Phoenix. It is one of the largest assemblages of mutants in battle the Earth has ever seen--and the brutal Sabretooth is one of the combatants. Sabretooth is not there for any political reasons, he has not aligned himself one way or the other--Sabretooth is there for the sheer joy of drawing blood. Mauling flesh and rending bone, Sabretooth fought through the horde with wicked glee.

Sabretooth is one of these mutants. The universe Earth-Rupture was nearly identical to Earth-616, mutants and all. And for every mutant from 616 that fell into Earth-Rupture, their alternate versions were pushed into Earth 616. Unfortunately for all involved, the explosion killed some and maimed the rest. Sabretooth is one of the few mutants who was exposed to the full force of the Rupture and survived (without additional barriers or protections granted by a mutation). His healing factor is what allowed him to survive after the event had occurred.

In the explosion, Sabretooth's flesh was obliterated from his body. Small strands of tendons, clusters of muscle and single threads of nerve remained behind, strung across bones. The enormous power of the Rupture created a heat flash so intense, that it nearly melted the Adamantium of his skeleton. It was pliable enough that concussive waves warped its shape, pulling the metal in his extremities outward, bending and deforming the ends of bones into jagged edges, and swelling once smooth surfaces. His brain and the organs housed behind his ribcage were the only parts of him that remained relatively undamaged.

Sabretooth fell to the charred ground with a dull clang--little more than a metallic skeleton. For a moment, Sabretooth's brain had not registered what had happened and he managed to stand himself up among the fallout, a dull silver specter of death (and the source of stories that the Grim Reaper himself was seen running from the carnage). Sabretooth managed one shaky step forward before the last connective bonds of tissue snapped and he fell back into the ash. Sabretooth's "remains" were one of many put into a mass grave at the site of the Rupture. With no eyes, or ears, or skin; Sabretooth had become entombed--a conscious brain cradled by an unyielding vessel. Aware of his past, aware of self, but ignorant of what had happened and what was happening to him, he lay under tons of dirt and decaying bodies while he healed. Slowly, but surely he began to regenerate an entire body. What bits of flesh remained stuck to his bones, acted as centers for new growth. And as each nerve regrew, laying exposed to dirt, he fell into agony. Soon his brain could hold no more thoughts than the pain of his rebirth.

Two years of regeneration in the loose dirt, but a lifetime of torment, Sabretooth emerged from the earth as we see him now. His healing factor, unable to grow beyond his proportions before his destruction, has left parts of his deformed skeleton exposed. Prominences in his skull peek out above his scalp, ends of ribs and clavicles bend beyond the skin, while his fingers and toes end in devastating twists and points of adamantium. No longer able to recall anything before the event--Sabretooth can only remember faces and scents and sounds of the mutants in the Rupture battle.

Now deranged from his ordeal, he holds no other desire than to hunt down these flashes of mutant faces and inflict pain on them equal to that of which he endured.

Tried to just sketch out a page of the case files of Royal Inspector - Special Investigations Div. of MI-13, Capt. Elisabeth Braddock and her loyal aide and bodyguard, Kwannon. In my head, Elisabeth has Kwannon investigate a home where they find not only the latest victims of a cannibalistic serial killer, but the killer himself.

Other Earth 919-AU sketches, for those that haven't seen them in other threads and pre-nuked forums:

    Psylocke and Kwannon I

Just curious, but is Eddie the host or someone else?

This is unbelievably awesome. I love the design for Dr. Nemesis.

Thank you! I'll be honest--he was what inspired the Rupture universe. I had NO clue who he was when I was assigned him. Checked out his history and how he appeared in the comics and was stuck with how to develop an alternate version of him unless I changed him drastically.

This is something of a first draft. I made it over the summer, but I already see some changes I want to make. It's Magik, by the way, incase you couldn't tell.

I used elements of Cyke's new costume and his Astonishing one. The suit has red glowy bits like the current one but they only glow when he's using his eye-beams, a trait based on New-52 Superman. A lot of the line-work on his suit was New-52 inspired. It's like a heatsink; the more he uses them, the further down the suit the red goes until it hits his feet. I want to use the chromosome shape in a lot of the E2 costumes, hence the curvier X on his head.

Also: the kneeling shot is based on his assist sprite from Marvel vs. Capcom

    Succubus

In another world, Selene too worked with Eli Bard and wanted to ascend to godhood. Upon meeting him, he promised Selene a big enough area for her to perform the ritual that would allow her to reach godhood. Unfortunately, Eli and Selene's plans were thwarted and both were to be burned at the stake. The Romans of course underestimated Selene's power and she broke herself and Eli free. After failing to accomplish Selene's domination of the Roman Empire, Selene aged Eli to near death. The catch is she had Eli remain immortal so that he would be forever ugly and would never be worthy of a woman as beautiful as she. To spite Eli, Selene found another man who was much more attractive and passed on the vampirism that was to be Eli's to him. His last name: Shaw. Eli meanwhile roamed the land and spread the tale of Selene but no one believed him and he was institutionalized.

Selene and Shaw formed an exclusive club only consisting of the most gorgeous people they could find and breed, starting what would be a secret society made of top class breeding. Selene would inflict her bite on any new recruit so they too would be immortal and never age. Membership was limited and anytime an even more attractive member was found, the least attractive of the current group would lose their immortality and be cast out. Children birthed from members who were not attractive would be sacrificed and the parents would automatically lose their immortality as well. Anyone unattractive who tried to buy their way in would instead be sponsors to the otherwise secret club, that way the club could remain funded but not be tainted by the presence of anyone deemed to ugly to grace Selene and Shaw's presence. The club called itself the Hellfire Club. Eventually, the club started recruiting mutants and superhumans. The humans felt this was not fair as many mutants, such as Mystique who was recruited, had an advantage over them as many mutants and superhumans could remain youthful and beautiful with their powers. Mystique had intentions for joining Selene though. After being deemed immortal, she wanted to bring Destiny with her but due to her age and frailty, Destiny was disallowed. Destiny's poor health was catching up to her and Mystique wanted to keep her alive. Mystique referred to Destiny's diaries that suggested a mutant who could absorb the psyche and powers of those she touched could be the key to keeping Destiny and Mystique together. The girl was said to absorb whoever she touches powers and psyche, intending on having Destiny live on in this girl's body.

Mystique found the girl, who simply went by Rogue and took her to Selene. While Rogue was manly in appearance, Selene was intrigued by her powers and made her immortal, plunging her fangs into her neck as Selene was immune to Rogue's powers. Selene boosted Rogue's powers as well, allowing her to not only absorb the psyche and powers of those she touched, but drain their life force as well. Rogue went from walnut cracking butch, to princess of darkness, and eventually became the daughter Selene never had. This also meant Selene didn't have to get pregnant and ruin her body by pushing out a baby. Rogue too became just as shallow as Selene was, which meant Mystique could finally act out her plan now that Rogue has been accepted into the club. Mystique brought Destiny back to the Hellfire Club and took her to Rogue, claiming she trespassed on the property and is to be dealt with accordingly: death. Rogue obliged and permanently absorbed Destiny's powers, memories, psyche, and life force, leaving Destiny's body an empty shell. Destiny's powers where overwhelming to Rogue at first but she saw Mystique's true intentions. When Mystique went to embrace Rogue, as she believed Destiny's persona took over, Rogue grabbed Mystique and too drained her life force, powers, memories, and psyche. As Mystique was being drained, she wondered how Rogue's powers affected her. Rogue claimed the power boost was just what she needed, before she too reduced Mystique to a lifeless husk. While Rogue retained Destiny and Mystique's powers, the two continued to live on in the back of Rogue's subconscious, reunited again.

Rogue shapeshifted her skin to be permanently gold and altered her appearance to be even more beautiful than before, taking on the new codename Succubus. This intimidated Selene, but for now, she would just keep an eye on her. Succubus saw with Destiny's powers that the human members of the Hellfire Club allied themselves with Bolivar Trask and plan on eliminating the mutant and superhuman members of the club. Together, the two seeked out all of the human members and revoked their memberships. Permanently. In lieu of the death of the Hellfire Club traitors, the club hired Dazzler to perform for them while they celebrated their victory. Succubus could sense the energy that flowed through Dazzler's body and went after her after the show, seemingly draining and killing her and dumping her in the club's basement. Little did Succubus know Dazzler too was immortal and while she appeared dead, a bright light coursed through Dazzler's body and she got better. Dazzler escaped, intending on bringing down the club for good.
