Default Spider-man and Deadpool, are the X-Men?

A lot of people consider Spider-man and Deadpool apart of the X-men family, what are your guy's thoughts on the concept?

They aren't. Maybe as off Spider-man & the X-men that'll change depending on how that title takes shape.

I have no idea why anyone would consider Spider-Man part of the X-Men family.

Deadpool's kind of like the X-Men's embarrassing idiot cousin.

I'm SUPER Excited for that series. Jason Aaron is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers in comics... well... except for original sin...

Won't be written by Aaron, thank goodness.

Yeah, his X-Men work was awful.

I generally consider Deadpool to be part of the X-Men franchise. Even though he's not a mutant.

Deadpool is part of the X-Books. He started as an X-character, shared an ongoing with an X-character, and has a shared history with Wolverine and the Weapon X project, among other things. Marvel typically lists his books as part of the current crop of X-titles.

Spider-Man is not a member of the X-Men, traditionally, but may be becoming one. We'll have to see. Regardless, he's still his own character.

Tiamatty said it. Deadpool's an x-character.. just not a mutant. I consider his book under that umbrella. Spider-man, no.

    Deadpool's kinda sorta an X-Character.

Spider-Man isn't though. He's as much an X-Character as Captain America.

He's that weird uncle that by the end of Thanksgiving dinner is being escorted to a police car out front.

Nightcrawler is Wolverine's best pal, Spider-Man is one of dozens of characters Wolverine has befriended in the Marvel U (including Captain America, the Black Widow, Carol Danvers, etc.). Spider-Man just happens to be more high profile than most of his other friends, and I suspect someone at Marvel was a huge fan of "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" during their childhood (as I was) and are taking the opportunity to shoehorn him into a school with Iceman and Firestar.

Deadpool is an X-Character. He was introduced into the franchise and is still primarily connected to it. Not all X-Characters are mutants, Warbird, Kid-Gladiator, and Mojo would like a word.

    Spider-Man most definitely is not.

I disagree The Xtitles have allowed plenty of non mutants from aliens, robots, cyborgs, hybrids, magic users in thier lives and on teams. Spiderman has never been antimutant even though some of his villians were mutants, this is his chance tomake marvel U friendships more like the Fan4 and less like Stark.
