Hi all CBR fans, i would like to present you a project, a new "comics experience" called Man Born Again from an italian independent label, Eclipsed Word.
I'd really appreciate if you would take a look guys.



The Story:
Jaxon Cage, a boxer of the Crown, Melanie McHall, an American student, a lawless town and ancient people protecting their land…From the metallic London sky, to the cloudless landscapes of North America, across two continents: powder and bullets, trickeries and treasures, subjugated souls and guardian spirits.
This is the story of the man who would change HISTORY!



How we realize this amazing digital comic?
For which concerns the contents we have drawn upon historical and anthropological sources to be later embedded in a fictional context. Man Born Again is released in online instalments: just like a TV series! Divided into 3 seasons, each of which will focus on the Italian actor Giuliano Gemma (Jaxon Cage) as the main character, next to many other artists, such as Moses Brings Plenty.

Why the Western genre needs Man Born Again?
Man Born Again is a comic, yeah we know it. But it isn't JUST a comic.
The story is grounded on historical documents and the spirit of the Lakota Sioux culture permeates all the novel.
Thanks to the expert advice by Dr. Alessandro Martire, president of the Wambli Gleska Association, we have transported in our comic the Lakota culture without filters!



Every single pencil's sign means something... will you able to understand all the messages, hidden in the Man Born Again's panels, in the story's events and in the narration? Don't worry, if you need, the spirit of the wolf will guide you.

Good Morning everyone,
Monday morning there has been the opening ceremony of the Wolakota 2014 exhibit at the Medici Riccardi palace in Florence. Thanks to the Wambli Gleska Association, the entire MBA crew has participated at the event as their partners.
We've been invited by the president of the association itself, Alessandro Martire, who has initiated us to the knowledge of the Native Americans trough the passion and love he feels towards this ancient culture. For this, we will be grateful forever.

We encourage everyone who is interested to visit the Wolakota event to have a look without prejudice to the arguments exposed in this exhibit, which was prepared with love and effort from all the association.

The Association and the Exhibit themselves have been also fully supported by the Italian Government, who has renewed the Identification of the Native Identity Agreement during the same event two years ago.

Despite it comes from our own imagination, Man Born Again is inspired by historical facts, and for this reason, our team has worked hard to have a sincere and truthful research.
The depth of the subject, that will be soon on ManBornAgain.com, brought us into an unexpected amazing personal evolution and journey: acknowledging this,*we now know that the beautiful Human Beings we have met aren't meant to be a simple concindence.
Those people's presence is so full of Dignity, Awareness, Spirituality and Courage that our creative imagination couldn't really materialized it into one single character.

In this way, as super-nerds as we are, we could receive a powerful enlightenment, strong as Thor's bolt, and clear like the mountain spring water: we realized that Batman, Superman, the Spiderman and the IronMan really do exist, but those 'paper heroes' own just a small part of the Courage, Nobility, Knowledge, Sacrifice and Love for their people in comparison of the Native Americans, who are a living incarnation of those ideals. Their example are, in our opinion, the starting point that will help our civilization to be inhabitated just by real Human Beings.

What the fans of Captain America, Green lantern, X-Men, the Avengers or the Justice League read on their comics made of raw paper about their favorite heroes, the Native Americans live it everyday as part of their lives since centuries.
For that reason we can say Superheroes exist: they are all around us, in every angle, in every city, because we are all Human Beings, like them. We have just to remember what does really mean to be a Human Being...in order to know how many and what our superpowers are.

The exhibit host two huge private collection of Native artifacts and various items and will be open to the public from 6th to 25th October in Galleria delle Carrozze - Medici Riccardi Palace, Florence (Italy).

Man Born Again is an experimental project, a pioneer of a new way of creating comics. One of the features that make it a new idea and original product is to try to integrate people and events with different artistic techniques in order to actively involve their readers. In this way, we communicate our message in a new way.

Have you ever wondered, for example, what is the value and the importance of the appearances in the silver screen? We believe that details are important for the big picture and they can hold the candle to maintain the contents of an entire work. Maybe, there's no coincidence that the actor Giuliano Gemma, the source of inspiration of the main character of our story, Jackson Cage, had this kind of incredible experience at the beginning of his wonderful career. The director William Wyler in fact, noticed him in Cinecittà and chose him for the role of a centurion in the epic movie Ben-Hur. Those appearance performances would act as a springboard for the world of cinema.

With Man Born Again, we directed our attention to the audience in an original way. Readers can become Appearances, and become living part of the setting with the Buy Your Role system.
Indeed, Buy Your Role allows to anyone, through the official site of MBA, to propose their own nomination.
By watching the video below, you will get the idea of how you can become part of the wonderful world of comics. This and more are the ideas that make this project unique, and led us to coin the term Comics Experience 4.0 to distinguish MBA project from the classic Graphic Novel.

The ManBornAgain Outlaw Crew WANTED at LUCCA COMICS AND GAMES

Yesterday, an armored train was burglarized on the Route 104.
Some survivors could recognize the four criminals, guilty of the theft.
They are the already famous lowlife of the Crew of Man Born Again.

After the robbery, it seems like that those law offenders took shelter on the Mount of Saint Luke, around the city of Bologna.
The Italian Police department has made their identikit circulate through all the country, in order to bring them to justice.

The 4 Wanted persons are: Phil the “StickWolf”, Dave the “BeanBear”, Fabbry the”old Johnny” and “Naked Eye” Manny.

According to local sources, the 4 criminals are heading towards the city of Lucca maybe to hit again! Pay attention, they are dangerous. If someone of you runs up against their path, should inform the local sheriff.

In the next days we will spread the identikit and the reward for each of them.

The Crew of Man Born Again hits again: this time, the object of desire has been the David of Michelangelo at the Uffizi gallery of Florence.
Some witnesses have recognized the four criminals: Phil the StickWolf, BeanBear Dave, Fabbry the Old Jhonny, and “Naked Eye”Manny.
Rumors say they’ve been seen escaping from Florence in direction of city of Lucca!
The police warns the population to watch out: these ruthless people are dangerous!
For this reason, the Italian Police Department has been raising the reward for each of them.
It will be released only in the case of arrest, possibly alive.

COMICS EXPERIENCE VS GRAPHIC NOVEL

Whilst there is no set definition, a Graphic Novel can best be described as a narrative work in which the story is conveyed to the reader using sequential art. However, unlike a comic book, it is neither serialized or sub-divided.
Yet there are countless stories originally conceived as serial publications, which were then collected into a single volume and labelled as a Graphic Novel, so that it would be an indicator of quality and to distinguish them from the popular comic strip.

This poses no problem to Comics Experience 4.0

Comics Experience 4.0 is not intended to be an evolution of the Graphic Novel, but rather an exceptional multi-level story, able to adopt and – at the same time – to revise the language of comics, both in form and contents.
This is an experience not to be considered as read-only. Rather the various messages found within the novel should be “lived” as something to research, explore and understand.
To give new shape and new content to this type of narrative, Man Born Again has been carved around 4 sections:

1. THE BODY

We chose a theme and a setting that the history of our world seems to have forgotten. To do so, we needed to re-define and re-establish the Western comics genre, treating it as if it were a movie, or more precisely, a TV series: in the first place by using real actors, secondly by giving the reader an opportunity to enter into the story themselves, to feature side characters and extras.

To enhance the characters recognition we borrowed a peculiar cinematic visual technique called matte painting and combined it with graphite and ink and other expressive techniques typical of “classic” comics.

In that way, the psychology of the characters and their inner self will be far more visually prominent

2. THE VIEW

In addition to introducing these new characteristics, Comics Experience 4.0 target is to eradicate, develop and extend the typical patterns of Graphic Novels from the narrative point of view.

In order to access extra bonus material, the reader will be challenged to discover high resolution hidden symbols and other visual elements. They will also be able to find links to real life events and trivia related to the story.

The “multi-level narrative” structure makes use of symbols and other visual elements inspired by the Native Americans symbolism, which acts as a conceptual model to represent their values.

In this way, the search for the hidden symbol or action, will stimulate reflection and will aid the reader in gaining awareness: a process that will describe what the main character of Man Born Again will experience himself through the crisis of his soul.

3. THE VOICE

We believe that the production of hundreds of thousands comic books printed on paper and their widespread distribution on heavy-duty vehicles, contributes to several ecological factors as pollution and exploitation of natural resources. This is not the best solution to convey a message to the widest possible audience. The web can bring a message in a more user-eco-friendly way and through a more creative and innovative language. For all these reasons, we created custom applications to support the new media platforms usability and we chose to use the web to promote, sale and disseminate our work.

4. THE SPIRIT

We have said previously that in order to enhance the characters recognition and their expressiveness, we borrowed a peculiar cinematic visual technique called matte painting. But what if the story is about spirituality? How can you touch the reader’s soul?

Our answer is: using music to revise the language of comics.

Comic fans like us, love the illustrated story board and get excited by well done drawings, but we must admit that music tugs everyone’s heartstring. The power of a song and what it does to bring back memories is undeniable. A song heard many years before can trigger dormant memories and in the same way, the soundtrack that accompanies each episode and each season, will become the soundtrack of our journey across Comics Experience 4.0. This is because at the end of every good story, the way the hero looks at the world will change and this will enable him to choose. Choose whether to love or hate, to live or die, to remain paralyzed in his crisis, or to radically change himself to be reborn. Again.
