True but, at the same time, the onus is on the coach to earn the respect of his players. Certainly there should be a certain amount of "institutional respect" given to the title and position but, over the long haul, everybody has to prove themselves. And in watching Blatt's game adjustments and substitutions and listening to his comments in the huddle, the locker room, and interviews, I kind of got the impression he was in over his head.

Bottom line: If Lebron walked all over him, that's bad on Lebron. But if Blatt let Lebron walk all over him, that's bad on Blatt.

LeBron is the golden goose. Gilbert isnt going to let anyone mess with the one guys who puts butts in seats and gives that whole downtown a decent economy. LeBron knows this, and should act accordingly.

Jackson was one of the worst coaches in the league. He simply didn't know what he was doing. David Lee, who is a black hole on D was starting over Draymond (who already looked like a starter last year) and Barnes. They kept running stupid ISO ball when they had the shooting and spacing available to be a much more efficient offense. He didnt know how to use timeouts. Then he would throw Bogut under the bus in postgame interviews and all the other shady **** he did like the assistants stuff and not practice enough etc. He was a complete joke. I'll be really surprised if he gets another NBA job anytime soon.

Right management was totally innocent. It was all Jackson. Also GSW still had one of the Best D under Jackson. The offense wasnt great I will admit.

The D got even better under Kerr. Hell, you even had some of the players express how well organized and effective Kerr's practices are compared to before. GS made the right choice, or so it appears as of right now.

I'm not really sure which side that comment is supposed to be taking, but it doesn't really support either one. According to the scenario you describe, Gilbert would basically be empowering Lebron to walk all over Blatt so, in that sense, he already is "act(ing) accordingly." And since when is a coach expecting his best player to follow the game plan considered "messing with him"? Gilbert hired Blatt to coach the team, so he has a vested interest in supporting Blatt's success at doing so. But if the front office is telling Lebron that he's the one who's really in charge and that they'll support him treating Blatt like a chew toy, that actively goes against that.

If Gilbert doesn't think Blatt is the right guy to coach Lebron then fire him and hire someone who is. But keeping him in place as an emasculated figure head while Lebron runs things (while the whole world watching knows it) just makes everyone look bad.

Gilbert isn't going to side with Blatt, if Blatt decides to stand up for himself against LeBron. Gilbert only cares about making LeBron happy. If LeBron decides to leave again then Gilbert us going to shoulder the blame.
