I've never seen this before. I wasn't aware that that's how Storm 'defeated' him for leadership of the X-men. That's stupid beyond belief. I always assumed she actually beat him in a fight, not took advantage of the fact that he'd prefer not to level the entire mansion in order to win. That's a cheap shot built around the fact that he knows he's having a friendly match, not an actual combat maneuver. Weak.

Actually, she just exploited his prime weakness: his fear of not being able to control his powers without his visor. She proved he would be a liability in the field.

Y'know, I see a lot of people who complain about that scene saying that the dirt should SLOW Wolverine's bleeding and work against Laura's strategy, but they miss the important point that Logan himself even notes: The dirt is interfering with healing factor and preventing the wounds from closing. So yes, the dirt will slow his bleeding, but slowed bleeding is STILL bleeding, which Logan doesn't do when the cuts heal (that's not even getting into how the wounds outright impact his mobility; cutting the muscle affects its ability of flex, and sever the tendon outright and you're not moving that limb period).
