Supergirl movie with latina lead and female lead.
Supergirl: In August 2018, a film centered on Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, was announced to be in development with Oren Uziel penning the script. Warner Bros. is seeking a female director. In February 2021, Sasha Calle had officially been cast in the role, with the character making a first appearance in The Flash (2022).

Black Adam Star Seemingly Confirms Their DC Hero Role
Black Adam star Sarah Shahi seemingly confirmed the DC comics hero she'll play in the film, meaning another Arrowverse hero is joining the DCEU.

"Today is my first day filming #blackadam. I was cast in this role a year ago. I've had ups, downs, lefts and rights. They all led me here," Shahi wrote on Instagram. "Very proud to represent my fellow middle eastern brothers and sisters as Adrianna. Let's continue to lift each other up as we tell each other's stories. Human stories. Connecting stories. Stories we all have inside of us."
Previously, Shahi hinted at her Black Adam character's identity with another Instagram post of three DC comics involving Black Adam, two of which featured Adrianna as the superhero Isis. Chronologically, Isis debuted in 1975's The Secret of Isis TV show as the secret identity of Andrea Thomas, which ran for 22 episodes alongside the 1974 Shazam! series and even crossed over with Shazam! for three episodes. Renamed Adrianna Tomaz in DC comics, she would go on to become Adam's bride and, upon receiving the Amulet of Isis from him, gained superhuman powers like flight, strength and the ability to wield various elements.

Oh wow, I've had a crush on Sarah Shahi since first seeing her in some series called Life that came and went without much fanfare. (really good series tho!)
I was already going to see this, because I see all things superhero, but it's moved up considerably on the 'want to see!' list.

Xolo was the best choice. Not only does he look the part but he already has a fan following thanks to Cobra Kai. Hopefully the success of that show will create more buzz for Jaime’s movie.

They have no reason to be. Supergirl just wrapped a successful 7 season show and its only ending because the actress wants to move on.
I'm really interested in knowing what Sasha Calle's Supergirl's backstory is going to be.
