Edict was passed down LONG after Bendis introduced his new guys.

And I can't believe readers are justifying this. Does anyone realize how insanely boring any series will be if the same characters interact with each other OVER AND OVER? This is tantamount to a slow, suffocating death for the franchise.

Issues just hitting the stands now were in the works from at least half a year ago. Give it about a year from now before we start seeing some real effects.

Not if it turns out he's an inhuman.

I get the feeling that bendis can do whatever he wants.

I think no new characters is a good thing...there's already a bunch of underdeveloped c-d listers they can use anyway...the merchandise/promoting thing really sucks though, probably why we'll never get a new X-Men animated series.

Thank god someone still has the cachet and workplace pull on the x-franchise to get **** done.

I hope. Fact is, Bendis is our only hope. I don't think any other writer has that kind of power in the halls of Marvel right now.

I think it's weird that people are justifying it as well. New characters = more stories to be told.

I'm telling you now. If you think that not being able to create new, interesting mutants will make writers use old uninteresting ones, you're wrong.

So the x-future is dependent on somehow fleshing out unused c and d listers. We're in great hands!

It also seems to depend how much money is at stake. For example, I don't imagine we'll be seeing the flow of Deadpool merch and comics slow down that much.

X-Men has too many characters not getting enough love. Those characters should get a second look instead of serving as wallpaper, or red shirts.

The majority of the Deadpool stories being written right now are good. It's not like they're flooding the market with crap like they did a few years ago.

With good reason. Imaginative writers actually = more stories to tell. And as it stands (bar Spurrier), the X-Office is creatively bankrupt. As has already been established, when writers get free reign to create whoever and whatever they want, we get tasteless derivatives like Triage and Tempus and it's even more of a problem when the creator of creations in question do next to nothing to distinguish them from their predecessors.
