And then in the majority of stories in the next 30 years was the mustache-twirling, ring-using Manchu knockoff most people know him as. To give another example, the Black Panther was established as the king of a technologically advanced nation with resources and skills rivaling any hero at the time (basically he was Bat-God before Bat-God). Then when he left the Kirby/Lee Fantastic Four he was just another street level hero who spent time either in the jungle or or bad urban neighborhoods (until Priest got hold of him). Those impressions are hard to shake, whatever the original intent of the creators.

    First impressions tend to stick.

Yes, individual first impressions tend to stick with the individual. "First impressions" as in first appearance not so much.

No. Scrappy was the villain in the movie because he was hated as a character (I honestly have no idea why).

His portrayal in the movie was specifically to make fun of and deride the character.

Only other place she's showed up was in the Villains for Hire mini, where she had a pretty okay showing as far as credibility.

    Here she is punching Bushmaster.

Also to quote her "IT'S A HOMAGE!"

Without his help it's possible the movies wouldn't have done as well as they did with younger viewers. Also the criticism from jaded, hipster fans attacking Lucas for not pandering to them but instead taking the smart play and going for the larger audience seemed to get under his skin. This may have had the dual benefit of making him want to move on from the franchise (thus being open to selling it) while also making the Star Wars franchise more appealing to Disney (who is one of the few entities large enough to be able to afford it).

Without Jar-Jar, it's possible (not guaranteed, but possible) we don't get JJ Abrams making new Star Wars films. Or any of the other Star Wars movies we're going to get. We're undoubtedly better off with Disney owning the Star Wars franchise (if for no other reason, and there will be many reasons in the coming years, than Mark Waid on a Star Wars ongoing comic) than we are if Lucas still owned them. And I truly believe Jar-Jar was part of that separation. Moy moy maxi-okeyday, that Jar-Jar.
Bull, the Ewoks are a great addition to SW. People of all ages can relate and enjoy those adorable teddy bears! There's also the obvious attempt by GL to continue to show how ruthless the Empire was that it would seemingly go out of it's way to harm the galaxy's most lovable and harmless species just because they could. It was also meant to show that even those who feel completely helpless to a situation can find their strength and courage to do what needs to be done to combat tyranny.

Well, she does defy logic, that's the joke. It's best to think of Squirrel Girl like a Looney Tunes character. There's no reason that a rabbit should be able to fight a hunter with a gun, but therein lies the humor ( and why does Bugs wear gloves but no other clothes?). She's a parody character, so you shouldn't expect the same type of suspense you get out of say a Wolverine comic.

It's interesting cuz Gene Colon was doing some moody expressive art on that title, but Stan's writing was almost the complete opposite.

Ok then you could basically says she's a parody of the Animaniacs and bugs bunny possibly the most famous looney tune for winning long-shot fights including being the only player for his team to play vs a baseball team.

    Kangaroo
It's bad enough there was already one but then to make another one that proved to be a joke who made some abysmal mistakes.
The second one worshiped that joke of the original who died, he is Australian the first one how freakin predictable
One damn punch to defeat this joke,he freakin fires his pouch canon that spider man webbed shut not thinking of the consequences which resulting in exploding in his crotch that rendered him unconscious, wore polka dot boxer shorts, needed intervention to prevent tombstone from injuring him, fell for a trap to narrow for kangaroo to climb through it resulted in him getting stuck along with something else damn bad that was implied.

Actually even regarding my stance there's a group that was just bad characters.

The Tracksuit Mafia from Hawkeye. Perfect as throwaway gag villains for someone like Speedball or Slapstick, but as legit villains they're so dumb.

Bro, I don't get the hatred for them. The most dangerous threats are usually not the ones in bright costumes. And organized crime and gangs have a long history as comic book villains, even opposing Superman like The 100.

Mainly that they only have that obnoxious "bro" tick that was maybe funny the first two issues but then got annoying way fast. They don't really have anything else going for them in any department and the fact that someone like Hawkeye has problems with them shows him as incompetent rather than make the Tracksuit Mafia look like legit villains.

    Orca

She was a poorman's killer croc, the fact that she's a killer whale with breasts makes her even more laughable.
