Now that they have Barry, Wally, Jay and Jesse--plus Eobard zipping around somewhere in time--isn't that enough super-speedsters for one show? If they need a fast villain, they can always do what the comics do and have one of those quick characters go rogue. Or have them face off against their doppelgangers.
There's more than enough other stuff that should be keeping Barry and the gang occupied. He has his forensic duties, which now include studying metahuman crimes. He has to figure out how the Speed Force works (which shouuld be a subject that would keep most scientists busy most of their lives). He should be preoccupied with the mechanics of timelines as this is his Achilles heel.
There's all the implications of knowing that 1) people can travel through time 2) there are multiple Earths 3) there's intelligent alien life in the universe. Any of these discoveries--on top of the mere fact that people can have such super-powers--would be a game changer for the whole planet. It's odd that none of the main characters aren't overwhelmed by these revelations.
Season 4: abra kadabra
Season 5: rogue war
Season 6: cobalt blue
Season 7: Godspeed
Season 8: grodd (which spell checked as Geoff lol)
Season 9: Future flash and maybe Selkirk
Season 10: reverse flash with inertia
TV Merlyn compared with original comic book appearance:
- also called the Magician ✓
- wears all black ✓
- at the same level of archery as Oliver ✓
- worked for the League of Assassins ✓
- cut loose from the League ✓
- first met when Oliver was younger ✓
- has a beard ✕
Of course, Merlyn's connection to the Queen family was added. And there were two Merlyns--Malcolm and Tommy, which kept up the mystery in the initial episodes as to which was Oliver's true foe. They pulled the same trick in the first season of FLASH, giving us two Thawnes, with only one proving to be the actual Flash foe. And just like Tommy, Eddie sacrificed himself in the season finale.
Reading SS vs. Justice League, I think Johnny Sorrow could make a good end boss. Ability to phase, plus his face when he takes the mask off.
I'm old enough to remember when on DARK SHADOWS, there was a long period that took place in the alternate universe. It's as if the writers had exhausted everything they could do with the Collins family in the prime reality, so they gave themselves an out to create a completely different scenario, with the same actors, in the other world.
So that always exists for THE FLASH. If they get themselves into the same mess that ARROW ended up in, in season 4, they have the option to go to another universe, with the same characters but with a completely different history.
Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow have all been renewed for another season according to Deadline.

Awesome to hear !
I can't wait to see how Barry mucks things up in the finale and causes the season-long arc in season 4 .
That was the case for a story arc, not for the remainder of the Dark Shadows series. Similar things have been done throughout TV history - using the same actors to represent ancestors in a completely different storyline. But they keep coming back to the original.
Doubtful they could do an entire season on an alternate Earth. If they did, it would be as a last-season let's make a hail Mary throw to pull out another season miracle sort of move
Cicada would be an amazing main villain. I'm not a huge fan of him in the comics but the idea of a cult worshipping Barry and killing people he's saved would be an amazing season long arc. I have no problem with the shows taking C or B level villains and elevating them to A level. Most show watchers known no better anyway.
Also Abra Kadabra could work.
Current Pull: Lazarus, The Realm, Seven to Eternity, Aquaman, Flash, Justice League Dark, Justice League Odyssey, Sideways, Black Panther, Captain America, Daredevil, Death of the Inhumans.
Future Pull: Killmonger.
