The stand-off between Cliff and Bar was personal, from the first time they met. It was Allen not his secret identity who was ticked off with DeVoe. From a visual, visceral perspective it made more sense for Barry to beard the lion in his den than it did Flash. Not completely intelligent--Cliff put the suggestion in Barry's mind when they were at the police station--but it makes sense from a character perspective.

in he series finale I read somewhere that devoe is ng to capture barry in a trap or prison constructed for him which funnily reminds me of "big sir" from the trial of flash storyline. wonder if a version of that storyline is adapted for the show then will he show up.

Isn't Oliver a groomsman, though? Seems like he'd have to have some kind of relationship with the bride or groom to get that role.

Ordinarily, but it's not unheard of for a companion of someone else in the bridal party to be included, just to make it easier on them. Otherwise, Felicity and Oliver would be separated when all the photos were taken. And we know that Oliver Queen is Iris's dream guy--so Barry is doing her a favour by including him.
