It's kind of awkward how many people say they love Daredevil but don't know what this costume is He literally throws it together to help someone out. I'm ok with it being used for longer than it is in the book, purely because it must be hell for a blind guy to get a costume while keeping his identity hidden but I do want to see a proper DD costume sooner than later.
Terrible, this is NOT Daredevil!
Ehhhh, I just hope the writing for the show is good and isn't too television'ish. Its Netflix so they got a lil more leeway to make this a really great superhero show
Correction: This IS the Daredevil we've been waiting for! All of his supporting characters will have major roles. It follows the Miller/Bendis runs. Both Cox and DeKnight are avid comic readers.
The show is a total origin story. Starts from the very beginning. This was the suit he wore for his origin (though briefly) . So whether you like it or not, it most certainly is Daredevil
Holy Knee Jerk Reaction, Batman!
That's about as close as anyone can possibly get to replicating John Romita's design for Matt's makeshift vigilante outfit, and it's awesome.
What I love the most is that Charlie Cox is a huge comic fan, which is extremely rare for actors starring in comic book media. Usually they are just asked to read a few things to understand the character, this guy actually knows his stuff. There were parts during the panel where he pointed out specific scenes and issues that only true fans would know. He's also familiar with the Miller and Bendis runs which this show will follow. And all the episodes are being put out simultaneously? I have nothing but high hopes for this series.
Would everyone relax? It's obviously the outfit for his origin story.
Everything is lining up perfectly on this. Marvel and Hollywood people making a 70s-ish crime show with good actors. I think it's going to be phenomenal.
....and on an entirely different note: love the pic of Charlie Cox playing Matt Murdock as Spider Jerusalem.
What's with all the "hope its not the finished product" BS?
The piece said that it was his "FIRST COSTUME" inspired by the Miller comic. It's right out of the comic, and is his first "original costume. Why is this a bad thing?
If he has this costume the entire first season, so be it. Since its his first costume, from the source material, I'm satisfied. I'm more interested in the quality of a Loeb show.
It seems D'Onofrio has familiarized himself with Kingpin too, I have high hopes for him.
If you wanna get even more pumped for this show read this (it's breakdown of the footage they showed at the panel) - http://io9.com/weve-seen-the-first-f...are-1645291890. I wish I could see the clips!
Thanks so much for this link, it's a lot better than the other breakdowns I read. The description of the scene with Vanessa and Fisk has me giddy. I loved their interactions in the comics, especially in PunisherMAX (which is a totally different universe, but still) . I love the idea of DD making bad decisions, that certainly happened a lot during Bendis' run. I also love that we'll be rooting sometimes for him and sometimes for Fisk. This sounds like perfect storytelling.
A bit too ninja, and black, for me. Like, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but I would like the DD symbol on the chest, or some dark red, the eye slits, as always.
Hopefully yellow - yes, yellow - and the usual red get used at some point though, and maybe indeed this is a prototype suit.
Not much of anything to say on the Matt pic. Is fine.
Terrible! Just terrible!
