Seeing as how Robinson is a Marvel exclusive and was at the writers summit, I'd bet we'll see some Golden Age love coming post-Secret Wars. Jim Hammond seems to be his go to character at the moment, so it'd be no surprise.

Yeah, I just don't get why more folks weren't buying the book. Especially after the reveal with Galactus.

Marvel has done quite a bit with the Invaders in the last decade. I thought that would have helped this book, but alas, no. I don't know if Marvel is going to give them another chance. They keep talking about new and going forward, which doesn't reassure me at all.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

Yeah, I can see Robinson doing some with Jim Hammond in future work. I'm just not sure where Robinson is going to land. Of course, with Avengers and X-Men opening up, it looks like there is going to be a lot more opportunities than I previous thought.

I love all the stuff with Golden Age heroes and stories set in World War II and stuff. (I'm still pissed that Marvel just ended the All-Winners Squad: Band of Heroes without at least releasing the remaing issues in at least a tpb collection or something.)

But I'm old. I'm not who Marvel is targeting. And those people they really want probably don't give a damn about anything that happened in the previous century, let alone comic book characters older then their grandparents.

    Unfortunately.

if Robinson gets an Avengers book post Secret Wars i would bet on Torch and/or Namor showing up. didn't he say he had a really great Namor story for All New Invaders? shame that with the book getting canceled we may not ever see it.

I could actually see Hammond leading the Avengers. Talk about All-New All-Different. I really hope Robinson take on Avengers.

    Assuming they don't leave Namor dead for a while . . .

I'm guessing, from the location and time reference at the beginning of the first page, that this may be pages from the middle or even end of the book, instead of the first pages.

I'm also wondering, WTF? with Iron Cross and Toro and the Neo-Nazis?? Doesn't Robinson have enough to wrap in two issues? Why another plotline?
I was actually thinking the same thing when I saw it. Hopefully we get a fulfilled and smooth ending.

I'm really going to miss this book.

Wonder if any of the newer characters will get a place in post Secret wars stories. I actually liked Radiance, she was different. And namor and torch on an avengers book? Count me in if that happens.

I could definitely see Robinson using his two new characters, as well as Hammond, in his next project. Heck, I hope we see Tanalth again.

It would be GREAT to see one of those mystery nations on Battleworld be Golden Age related.

I could definitely see Hammond leading an Avengers team with Radiance, Iron Cross, Toro and others. I think Robinson has seeded enough through ANI that there are more than a few possibilities for him during the Secret Wars era we're heading into . I'd prefer to see him do more with Hammond and Namor and the others, but I think we could also get something really good with Killraven or the Eternals too. I'd even welcome a revival of Agents of Atlas under his pen given that Parker seems to be off Marvel books for the time being. Or the surviving heroes of the Twelve! It would be so great to see some of them make a comeback (Master Mind Excello for the win!).

New Golden Age idea! I just stumbled across the fact that the first three characters Stan Lee had a hand in creating The Destroyer, Jack Frost and Father Time all appeared in August of 1941 close enough together that it's sort of difficult to disentangle which of them was actually his first concept. Have these three ever appeared all together in any later Avengers or All-Winners Squad type stuff? I think a story featuring these three lesser-known heroes could be a pretty great tribute to Stan's contributions to the Golden Age.

A "Destroyer" and Jack Frost both appeared in the original run of The Invaders (not necessarily at the same time), but I don't think Father Time ever did.

The three did show up together on this cover, though:

I don't know, but that would be an awesome story for a Stan Lee tribute book.

As much as I complain about that series, it really had some great scenes, and clearly showed the creators' love for some pretty obscure characters. Remember the wall of heroes?

It also had one of my favorite alternate Namor issues, #3, with Invaders Namor fighting the Old Warhorse Namor. Great stuff!
