Default They sink more as they go

Did you get the feeling that X-men need a reboot before they screw things worse then they did already?I was glad to see Apoc as leader but really Sabretooth a hero, Mystique caring mother, deadpool a hippie, Storm, kurt and all the rest villians(I would be okey with them being against unity but the bad attitude against Kim and others), some things are not our to change some things should be left to their original state.

its not about change. change is good. as long as it is IN-CHARACTER.

cyclops going dark is great because it is long-term characterization (ever since morrison's cyclops having memories by apocalypse merging).

wolverine being all about pacifist dream and avoiding taking children to battle "because reasons" is not ok.
mystique changing personality "depending on the writer" is not ok.

endless character clones created (how many phoenix'ed redheads in continuity again?... how many summers kids?... how many wolverine clones/kids/copies?) because of boredom is not ok.

at this point, continuity NEEDS the reboot, for these reasons and tons more.

Kind of unfair, there. Wolverine only has three who have been significant characters in 616; X, Daken and Raze, and it's a REALLY big stretch to call Raze significant at all.

Yeah it's kind of the entire point of Axis it's weird how some people still think it's natural. With the exception of a handful (Iron Man, Sabretooth...) most of this will be back to normal probably before the crossover ends.

Let me give a head count of people who were possessed or brainwashed or controled via some sorcery or powerfull being overriding their will;Cyke(P5), Northstar(Hydra), Wolverine(Hydra, Apoc, Weapon X....),Emma(Cassandra Nova, P5), Gambit(Apoc), Angel(Apoc several times), ......I am sure there are a lot of people I forget to include.
Problem isn't about changed personalities, problem we read the same lame trick one out of two years because writers can't find a good story while there are thousands of good characters to create a story around.
It is good to read about a hero being a bad guy but they do the same thing too often.

I am all for Daken and X-23 I kind of enjoy reading about them and I want Daken to have a good relationship with his fathr but still be on not a villian but anti-hero way.
But I agree about too much of the same thing can be bad.The thing is there are two of everything right now a tony tark and another Tech genius Arno Stark, A Cyke who goes with Corsair and A Cyke in homeworld, an Angel in Cykes camp and one in JGS(I think).
I mean there are tons of good things to write about for example Anole(Victor) is the CEO of Warrens company and they are doing pretty well acutally better then Warren ever did.Evan and the rest of the young kids and Armor are good to see in any kind of adventure. But nooooo rather then create a new team with a mix of new and old you do the same thing every time.I was so amazed with Hellion and Surges team same goes for JGS kids. That intergalactic casino or Savage land stories were gold.Like Kitty Wolverine stories or Jubes-Wolvie ones back in the gold era.

I know how you feel, I was in my local comic book shop recently and suddenly realised that, surrounded by dozens of X books, I didn't fancy reading any of them.
Made me feel sad and not a little depressed.

yeah that make me sad too.
i used to be a huge fan of the x-books. even if never really get interested by everything, especially since the 90's, i always tried new stuffs and eventualy to come back on the title i previously stoped.
but i just cannot read anymore today's titles (well, except X-force and X-Factor but they gonna end soon). it's like Marvel try only to keep the last hardcore fans by cloning or adding more time-displaced characters, publishing lot of titles with the sames guys or concepts (phoenix for exemple) in each. same persons and same storys repeated, poor characterization, multiple death and resuscitations ...
rebooting every 1 or 2 years is not enough, with too many consanguinity and lack of originality it won't get better !

Why are you reading Axis? None of this is reflected outside of the event and the books tying into it. If you want to stop seeing crap like this, don't support big events as they RARELY have people acting in character even without things like the inversions.

Don't forget that Deadpool's writer has killed off all of Storm's brain cells so he can have Zenpool vs X-Men at the school and to cover up the Non-Inverted X-Men problem by greatly harming Storm's character.

It's more of non-X-Book writers causing harm to the X-Men to sell poorly planned events or simply bad writing.

Yeah things have gotten real bad when a long time leader of the X-men can be portrayed doing idiotic things just to cover-up terrible writing and execution of a Avengers event, to lazily attempt to explain plot holes.
