How would Gillen have done the revolution?

I read a lot of criticism about Bendis and his way of putting the whole mutant revolution into a story.
While I don't share this view, I can understand why some people think its happening too slowly or not in the right way.

But how exactly do you think would Gillen have done it, were he still the author of Uncanny X-Men?
Where would the story be right now? What would Cyclops and co have done?

I'd have hoped he'd come up with a better premise from the start to be honest than the "revolution".

It'd probably have a lot of Mr Sinister, which wouldn't be such a bad thing seeing as we've not really seen him since Gillen left.
