50 pages and no James Bond thread?! As a huge Bond fan, figured i'd be the one to change that. Here we can discuss the movies of this legendary franchise as well as it's next installment, Bond 24.

So Bond fans, favorite Bond movie? 007 has been portrayed by six different actors, who is your favorite? Favorite Bond Girl?

Below is what we know about Bond 24 so far, i'll always post the latest updates:

1. Sam Mendes returns to direct

2. Filming is set to commence on December 6th

3. Locations so far include Austrian Alps, Italy (Rome and Campania) and Morocco (Casablanca and Tangier)

4. French actress Léa Seydoux (Robin Hood, Midnight in Paris, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) has been cast in a Bond Girl role:



5. Dave Bautista (Riddick, Guardians of the Galaxy) has been cast as the main henchman/assassin 'Hinx'

What i miss from James Bond movies is the over the top plots and action.Also,you got to love the Cold War atmosphere.It's not weird that the fun of those films lost in most of post-Cold War Bond films.

As for favorite 007?I am torn between Connery and Moore.Connery,except being the first and the image that most of the world has for the fictional character of Bond,he had an interesting mix of style and attitude,along with pure 60s misogynism.Moore was the first Bond i saw in TV.I enjoy his over the top comfort he had in the face of danger and i enjoy his quotes and puns.Also,another plus was that being less physical imposing than Connery,he had to rely on his wits and cleverness to beat brutes like Jaw.

My favorite Bond girl is the original Miss Moneypenny.Lois Maxwell was such a beautiful lady and he had a great chemistry with Connery.With Moore not so,but still,i consider her the best and more classy of Bond Girls,at least of Connery era.




Still,i think that Bond franchise's strong point are the villains.The 007's rogue gallery is amazing.My favorite villain is faceless Blofeld from Russia with Love and Thunderball.Also,i love Telly Savalas Blofeld.Although not the super-villain of Connery films and more of a gangster,Savalas'Blofeld is quite charming and a physical threat for 007.Also,he was the model that DCAU Lex Luthor was designed.

Favorite Bond Film: Goldfinger. In my opinion, no other film in the series has come close to its brilliance.

Favorite Bond Actor: Connery. Sean Connery.

Favorite Bond Girl: Anya Amasova, a.k.a. Agent XXX from The Spy Who Loved Me

Hope it's better than the last movie, which became a god awful mess as it went on. Hopeful Mendes can also make a James Bond movie this go around too.

I also wouldn't mind if Batista wasn't just the big bad as opposed to the henchmen my favorite Bond Villains tend to be the more physical sort like Robert Shaw in From Russia with Love and Sean Bean in Goldeneye

And a great as I think those were, Skyfall was one of the best.
Partially because it continued the traditions of great action in exotic locations and over the top villains and plots.
And he had the Aston Martin.

Exotic locations like London and the Scottish Highlands?

That Aston Martin scene makes no sense at all, and is one of the things that sucked about the movie. It's a stupid in reference that feels like it's going somewhere. Holy ****, he's taking a Aston Martin DB5 out to the Highlands to met some guy...and it's not any DB5, it seems to be the DB5, because for some reason it's got guns and stuff in it. Maybe something somewhat interesting is about to happen...never mind, it was just leading up to Not-Sean Connery teaming up with Daniel Craig for a gun fight and some talking stuff that only works if it's actually Sean Connery in these scenes. The main villain for Skyfall is like that too. He feels like some weird commentary on Pierce Brosnan's Bond: He was the favorite agent of Judi Dench before Craig Bond, and was thrown away by MI6 (Eon) after a mission that goes south that sounds somewhat like the beginning Die Another Day. Only they don't have Pierce Brosnan playing this villain who's meant to have his history with M, a history you never really feel in the movie because it's just not there. The more you find out about Bardem's character the more it seems like it should be Brosnan in the role, and the more it seems it can only work as is with Brosnan in that role.

It's also just doesn't feel like a Bond movie, which makes the movie ending with a big 50th anniversary seal funny and aggravating. Happy 50th Bond, here's an action movie that feels like all the other action movies that come out.

Favorite Bond film is probably Skyfall. I didn't mind the focus on locations in the UK because I'm an Anglophile. The cinematography made this film for me. It is simply fucking amazing. I thought the locations in Shanghai and Macau and Scotland were beautiful. Focusing the story around Judi Dench's M and Bond's own mortality, as well as peppering the film with homages just made this a satisfying 50th anniversary event for me.

I confess that Sean Connery is THE Bond, but my personal favorite has to be Pierce Brosnan just because his films were what I grew up with and experienced before I saw any other incarnation of Bond.

Favorite Bond girl? Judi Dench. The classiest Bond girl there ever was or ever will be.

Favorite villain? I'm partial to Alec Trevelyan because I loved the concept of another 00 agent going rogue. I guess that happened in Skyfall as well, although it is never confirmed whether or not Silva was a 00 agent.

I'm saying it's a bad movie that doesn't even work as a Bond movie. It might be the worst Bond movie Ive ever seen. It's somewhat interesting up until they get Silva, then they go to London and the movie becomes boring to look at and everything starts to collapse in on itself. The first half is kind of cool, at times it's like a live-action version of Golgo 13 The Professional. The second half makes me wish I'd never seen the movie, makes me wish it was a better movie, and makes me wish it wasn't made.

That isn't close examination, that's surface stuff that doesn't work about the movie. The main villain doesn't work, his whole thing is about his past with M, but the movie doesn't pull it off. Silva feels like it was made for Pierce Brosnan, with him his history with Bond and Judi Dench's M would bleed into the role, and you would feel the history that isn't in the movie because there would be real history to play off of. With anyone other than Brosnan, as it's written, you just get nothing. The Albert Finney scene doesn't work because A. It's pointless and B. It feels like a cameo tailor made for Sean Connery, that for some reason was stupidly kept even after they couldn't get him. The newest Bond going to the first (official) Bond for some advice and then teaming-up for a gun fight: Cool. The newest Bond going to meet Albert Finney looking like Sean Connery and then teaming-up for a gun fight: Why is this even here? And that stuff is like the whole second half of the movie.
