Well first of all, there is humor and suave in Craig's performance. I'll give you Quantum of Solace, but you guys must have seen a different Casino Royale and Skyfall than I did, because it was there. He just wasn't the constant one-liner spewing quipster that the later Moore/Brosnan movies had, which is a GOOD thing imo. Also, Craig's Bond is the closest that we've ever gotten to Ian Fleming's book Bond, which is appreciated. He's not Jason Bourne, it's ridiculous to argue that he is. As for my favorites:

    Films:

    1. From Russia With Love.
    2. Casino Royale.
    3. Skyfall.
    4. Goldfinger.
    5. Goldeneye.

    Bond Actors:

    1. Daniel Craig.
    2. Sean Connery.
    3. Pierce Brosnan.
    4. Timothy Dalton.
    5. George Lazenby.
    6. Roger Moore.

    Bond Girl:

    1. Vesper Lynd.
    2. Tracy Bond.
    3. Natalya Simonova.
    4. Anya Amasova.
    5. Pussy Galore.

    Bond Villain:

    1. Alec Trevelyan.
    2. Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
    3. Max Zorin.
    4. Raoul Silva.
    5. Francisco Scaramanga.

    Bond Henchmen:

    1. Xenia Onatopp.
    2. Jaws.
    3. Red Grant.
    4. Oddjob.
    5. Dr. Kaufman.

    Bond Song:

    1. You Know My Name.
    2. Skyfall.
    3. Goldfinger.
    4. Goldeneye.
    5. Nobody Does It Better.

If that's seen as a fine whine on my part, so be it, that's just how I feel.
I don't need to have Bond jumping on top of the Empire State, just have him do a few cool ****, a gadget, charming lady, a good fist-fight, place a strategic Bond and leaving us wanting for more. Connery and Brosnan knew how to pull this off.

Goldeneye, the video game and Sophie Marceau (yes please) are the only things I liked from the Brosnan era. I wouldn't even rank his next three movies in my top 15.

Really? Forget Brosnan Bond, The World Is Not Enough is one of the worst Bond films ever made.

    I think it's Brosnan's best after Goldeneye.

Yeah, one of the worst Bond movies ever made. Nothing about the movie really works, and it's just so boring to watch.

Not sure what the point of bringing Skyfall up was. Did you just bring it up because that's a Bond movie some people like? I know I talked about Skyfall in this thread, but I wasn't exactly expounding on the virtues of it. I think I pretty flatly said Skyfall is a terrible mess of a movie.

Worse than Die Another Day? I differ greatly, as The World Is Not Enough felt watchable...Die Another Day was...just...awful!

people say skyfall is like the best bond movie of all time I was just saying skyfall is a retooling of The World Is Not Enough. to me it works and is far from boring but I respect your opinion.

Yes, worse than Die Another Day. At least Die Another Day has the stuff in Korea and the sword fight in England. The World Is Not Enough has nothing, it's a thoroughly unwatchable movie...at times it maybe works as unintentional comedy, making you wonder just what the hell they were thinking.

I liked Roger Moore. I think it's easy to crap on him but I think he had the suave thing right and he could be a killer when he needed to be. The problem was his movies sucked and he stayed too long. They should have picked him around OHMSS then let him do the few flicks following then get a younger Bond around the mid 1970s.
