I think this character has been at his best, likeability wise, is in the Wolverine and the X-men series as he goes from unlikeable to an actually sympathetic hero with his own insecurities and problems that make him better then what he originally was when Morrison created him. Although I'm not sure how I feel about him being the Phoenix, cool upgrade but maybe not wise in his hands.

I think that it's a matter of wait and see, he has showed that he is smarter than all of the Avengers by going to ask about the Phoenix to someone who actually was a host, also smarter than Wolverine specifically because of also asking about Apocalypse to it's former host, if he has already outsmarted most of the "heroes" in the mu he has the potential of actually doing good with the Phoenix

I like him. Riot at Xavier's was the high point for me during Morrison's run, and he has been a solid and enjoyable character.

I'm part way through my Wolverine & The X-Men omnibus and I absolutely love his character.

I sort of hope he grows up though, the rebel problem child thing will get old eventually.
