Bendis did go on record to say that everything leads into secret war.

I'm presuming that somehow at the end of Time Runs Out, whatever the heros do to stop the incursions actually makes things even worse, add to that the fact that time is broken and you have Secret Wars... with probable tons of tie-ins where it's one timeline or universe versus another.

I hate to throw fuel on the fire and I have my personal doubts, but a darkhorse possibility is that Marvel IS actually doing a soft reboot of some sort with Time Runs Out. With this promotion running shortly after Time Runs Out, all of these materials about classic Marvel concepts may be revamping a handful of key events in Marvel history.

Again, I doubt it, but it's a remote possibility.

I think much of it comes because, at least in terms of the X-Men, the current stuff is just dreck and most everyone knows it.

I don't think it is fuel, I think this is the intent for Marvel to release them in this way. I know some of the creators claim to hate the internet eruptions of rumors but they do kind of start them in this fashion. No other reason to promote something 8 months away.
I can see them revisiting specific events and using them to change the status quo...not so much a full reset but just switching and adapting certain character elements and revamping the current day. You can twist and break a lot before considering anything a reboot. Shaving certain things and lifting others can make anyone refreshed.

The article explains a lot of the stuff in the picture but... Once again... No Rachel mention even when she played a fairly big role in DoFP and that's her original timeline. She's on the cover between 2 Kitty Pryde's, is it so hard to name drop her even once in these Articles?
