Why don't they just get Doctor House play Doctor Strange. You don't even have to work hard for it, everything is there. It always feel like Hollywood want to make it hard for themselves or Directors want to be ultra clever. And the latest FF flick is an example of that. Just pick some comics with the character you want to cast then match the actor that remind you most of this character.

Exactly! Marvel is the one viewing the audition tapes, they are the ones who have a better of how the actor is when they are playing the character. Some casting decisions work out, others don't. Look at how wonderfully Chris Evans as Captain America worked out.

It's funny because I've seen most of these and 'pirate' never crossed my mind once. Depp would be an excellent Dr Strange. (in my opinion of course---I'm not one to forget that my opinion is not fact)

Considering the way Marvel has continued to cast since choosing RDJ for Iron Man, I would not bet on any of the mentioned names being Stephen Strange on the big screen. Norton was probably the biggest name cast choice for a lead role and since then they've gone with people who would be considered B-List on a good day.

It does feel like it's taking a while with casting this film.
