Depends on how expensive the show is. It seems like it must have a pretty good effects budget.

In any case, a full season pickup would give it time to find more audience.

tonight's episode, the ghost of the murdered model with the slit mouth was a nod to the legend of Kuchisake-onna.

and the episode about the record with the cursed song was inspired by Robert Johnson.

Aha! Thank you, I heard about that legend ages ago and I've always loved the concept but could never remember the name of it. When I saw it pop up in the latest episode I really wanted to be able to re-read over it.

I feel like this show is getting better and better, starting to find itself some solid footing. And Papa Midnite works really well in the current setting

My only criticism of the show is that Constantine a bit over reliant on magic artefacts.

Hopefully going forward we will see John using his cunning mind, tricks and manipulation skills more than James Bond style magic gadgets.

I do wish they wouldn't end each episode with John (and now Pappa) just yelling - Garble, barble, yabba dabba darghale - at some spiirt. Getting a touch old early.

That Papa Midnite is one sexy beast. Good episode with one hell of a director on it. Good to see the nod to Jerry Siegel for being half creator of the Spectre, 'tho I don't get why the other creator wasn't listed. This probably has to do with the arrangement between the Siegel state and WB. This has to be like the 4th nod to mystic DCU with the helmet, the staff, Medusa's mask and now Jim Corrigan. Am I missing one?

Hope that if they use Fate, it is the classic Nabu fate and not the crappy fate from Earth 2. What a waste of a character, not to divert.

Episode 5 "Danse Vaudou" I thought this was one of the better episodes so far. Nice to see Jim Corrigan show up. Starting to really like Angelica Celaya as Zed. I liked seeing Papa Midnite and John work together. The gore under the one ghost's mask looked pretty good and I laughed when Chas started asking her questions. Loved that Zed saw Corrigan as The Spectre at the end.

My favorite episode so far. Really had everything go for it. I still can't believe the Spectre made it to live-action.

Damn, I could look at a closeup of Angelica Celaya paused on my television all day.
