Default The Green Hornet and Kato

So Leigh Whannell will direct Green Hornet and Kato
A guess it's going to be darker in tone compared to the show and Seth Rogen version although personally I thought that movie was pretty good what do you guys want to see in Green Hornet and Kato?

I didn't see the Seth Rogan movie but the trailers for it turned me off. I wouldn't mind an approach similar to the one of the old TV series from the 60's...it wasn't the overt camp of the Batman series ( they had the same producers), but while there was a slight wink at the audience, alot of it was played straight. It wasn't making fun of the genre of the character.

Well, I hope the Green Hornet will actually be competent (no offense to Kato).

I didnt mind the Seth Roagn movie. it was goofy but it was fun. I would love to see a more serious take on the big screen. I enjoyed the 60s show and I enjoy the old Black and White Serials from the 40s even more

I love to see it as a period piece. A diabolical antagonist is fine, but I hope they'll stick to a criminal mastermind rather than trying to manufacture a superfoe.

I'd prefer GH as a series, so we could watch him dismantle a criminal enterprise over time, but that's not in the cards evidently.

The last Green Hornet film was kind of a flop. Although I thought it was good.

I'd love to see a new Green Hornet film.

It wasn't really a flop it didn't do big numbers but it did alright.

I’d like to see Chris Pratt as the Green Hornet and Johnny Depp as Kato.

Keep Depp as far away from this as you can. I dont even care about the legal issues he is having. He is just so wrong for Kato I kind of threw up a little at the thought.

Pratt I would not mind as much if he did it serious. he did a good job as the serious guy in the Jurassic World series.

I dont want a modern take though. Give me a classic Noir vibe all the way!

    I really enjoyed the 2011 Rogen/Chou/Diaz movie.

A new take on the characters is fine w. me though. My only side eye goes to the implied darker tone. I’m okay w. a darker tone as long as they don’t sacrifice the fun.
I’ve lived through 3 Nolan Batman movies and one movie about a guy that was NOT the Joker. I don’t wanna add Green Hornet to that pile!

Make it like the tv series, the Green Hornet is the mastermind and a good fighter. Kato is the mechanic/driver and a better fighter with a different style. Equal partners.

Pratt as the Green Hornet, I can definitely role with.

What about the dude from the Raid, Iko Uwais, as Kato? I realize he is not Japanese, but in his original creation was Kato Japanese or just general Asian?

I didn't hate the Rogan film of Green Hornet. Felt it set up a sequel to likely go more serious. Still.

I'm indifferent if it is a period piece or present day. Dynamite has had some good material they could draw from, including showing a capable Reid/Hornet.

    Ready to hear more.
