I noticed that too and I figured it wouldn't have been focused on if it wasn't going to come into play in the a later episode.

I was more disappointed than anything, when he stabbed Gregor. I thought he had killed him too quickly.

That's probably because of Oberyn repeating "You raped her. You murdered her. You killed her children" over and over again. That riled me up. Then I saw his teeth flying and realized he had speared The Mountain in the wrong (hill)side.

And yes, Arya's laugh was a very good one, modulated.

The Hound's expression also sold it

The Hound: "You've got to be ****** kidding me?!!!"

This is the wrong series to expect fanservice from.

I don't understand how people watching this show haven't gotten that yet

That very much depends on what you mean by fan service. The show offers plenty of fanservice in the traditional meaning of the word.

Haven't they learned nothing from Tyrion's quote?

Then I'm probably misusing the term. I mean giving the fans what they want (such as the noble characters winning, and "villains" getting their cumupence in a predictable manner.)

I guess I'm saying "Don't expect a violent version of The Princess Bride".

Honestly, the beetle smashing story is probably the most apt parable of the entire series.

I had a feeling Sansa was going to turn around and save Littlefinger. I didn't expect Oberyn would get killed at the end. He was my favorite new character.

If by fan service people mean gratuitous HBO nudity this show has that in spades. Seeing unlikable characters punished and good ones rewarded. Not so much.
