Yup. The show knows how to take the viewers out of their comfort zone.

I'm pretty sure episode 9 is supposed to focus on the situation at the wall and episode 10 will pick up where this left off. At least that's what review sites have been saying.

It's less "the show" and more the books. I mean I think there are differences in the little things, but apparently everything they do is in the book, so I don't see how the show or its producers try to get at the viewers :P lol

That's true, but it is still unusual and even historic for a tv show. Many movies are considered noteworthy for things the books did first. And it says a lot that the producers even thought a book like this was worth adapting so faithfully in the first place.

That episode was amazing! Probably my favourite since the red wedding. The Viper's death was brutal even though I expected it to happen, Sansa's finally grown up and I thought she looked stunning in that black dress, even the Dany stuff wasn't as dull as usual.

they were aged up for the show...Arya was 8-9ish, Sansa around 12-14, Rickon 5, Bran about 10, Rob and Jon were 16-17 I think
