You don't even need to be part of Europe to be in the Eurovision Song Contest. Israel's part of the Eurovision Song Contest. Hell, Australia is part of the European Song Contest (supposedly on a temporary basis, but it will probably end up there permanently).

Actually given how skewed some countries can be in priorities I wouldn't be surprised if Sokovia spent money it'd have used on rebuilding to train and send people (or just sponsor some) to Eurovision.

It might be largely entertainment but countries love using stuff like this to bring pride to their nation.

It's Canon that Doom is a huge DAZZLER fan. He spared her life after she tried to thwart his United Nations caper, because he liked her music and needed her power to destroy Nightmare.
