Default CBR Cover Contest - May 9 to May 13?

First of all, apologies to everyone for being so tardy with the new cover contest topic. I've been busier than a three legged dog trying to piss uphill into a stiff breeze.
    However, that said...

    *Fanfare*

For folks who haven't participated the cover contest is our way of having fun posting covers. The rules are down below.

For our Second Contest : WHY YOU LOVE COMICS!

Pick a cover that you think best expresses the reasons you love the hell out of comics.
F'rinstance, here's a cover featuring a two-fisted pulp adventurer and a retired gunslinger riding a triceratops into a horde of ninjas while being buzzed overhead by a World War I biplane. COMICS!!!

    Have fun.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Contest Rules

Post one, and only one, cover that fits the theme of the contest.
Cover must be from an published comic book or collected volume.
Covers must be posted before voting begins.
Voting runs from 12 AM Tuesday until 12 AM Wednesday PST*.
Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most.
The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period.
Previous contest themes can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/gloryq...rcontestthemes.
    Have fun!

(* - though it might be an idea to allow people some sort of time limit extension because of my tardiness if people think that's necessary.)

My first time to play, I hope I understand the rules well enough

This issue was the start of loving comics for me. I love it because it shows a mysterious and strong looking X-Men team.

Looking at familiar stories a different way

    What have I always believed?
That, on the whole, and by and large, if a man lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, in the end, more or less, turn out all right.

Meh. Still not allowed to put four images into one post.

I think one of the things I like most about comics is all large and small ways the art and words can interact (if you have a writer and artist who are on the same page, or one person) that simply are not possible in any other form of telling a story. It can create a unique experience that is so very different from watching a movie or reading a prose story or playing a game...

I like comics, stories, music, trips, people, art or any enticingly crafted stuff to

rearrange my outlooks, further inspire me, affect me, regardless or despite what I might feel to be knowing already.

I like being made to shut the hell up and forget myself for a minute, onto opening my mind, to experience the fun and the richness of what could be possibly become imagined, for real, at its peak, its most extreme or its most intricate.

    And best nothing less.

Because sometimes, I need to be reminded that the good guys don't always win, and in spite of it, you've got to keep on fighting the good fight, no matter how great the loss.

Space Boy is everything I love about comics. The name, moon base, gorilla body, robin mask, heroism... he is perfection.

The unicorn is kind of lonely
Being unique and oh so corny
Mounting does not amount to much
    The unicorn is unic-horny.

Uncanny X-Men #208 leads to my favorite issue Uncanny X-Men 209. Together they're one of my favorite stories. It starts with the X-Men fighting a sinister sex club of villains, then turns into a team up against a mutant hunting robot from the future. It has emotionally instability, a psychic vampire from Ancient Rome, clear-cut heroes and villains, and heroes blurring the line, compelling villains, and evil robot from an alternate future, bad religion, a psychedelic trip, a werewolf (I don't actually love werewolves, but I love that he threw everything in this story), Claremont, high drama, and Sage!
