Yeah, he did. I'd have been happy with him on a Nightwing and Robin title as well.

You know, they could have probably worked as Wingman (Nightwing + Batman) and Redbird. I mean I don't really have any problem with what Morrison did with Jason in Inc, but since "Nightwing and Robin" just isn't the same as "Batman and Robin," I feel like we missed a consolation prize there.

Now that I think about it you're right. Wingman and Redbird sounds much better and it's closer to what I was envisioning when I was talking about a Dick and Damian book.

Nightwing and Flamebird would have worked.

I'm all for a new direction for Dick, but you know he will be Nightwing again sooner or later.

It would have worked easily and its honestly what should have been done.

Flamebird has too much feminine connotation.

I see this was edited - you may have initially said 'homosexual' connotation. That would be pretty damn accurate haha

"In the sky! It's The Flaming Bird!"

(fyi I don't think that's sexist. someone gay would hopefully think that's funny too)

Nah. Nightwing is also too dark a name for Dick's personality. The contrast would make it work. Also, flamebird is, admittedly, slightly reminiscent of the term "flamer," but its not like the "batman and robin are gay" jokes haven't happened already. They'd be no harder to ignore for nightwing and flamebird.

I hate that Batman is the center of that different variations of Dick Grayson Daniels piece. I can't wait for the day DC wakes up and realizes that Dick Grayson can be so much more than Batman lite.

I do realize that, and still stand by my statement. It's stuff like that that only emphasizes the attitude that Dick is not only just a Bat family character but that his end goal or the ebst he can be is be Batman. And I disagree with said attitude.
