Yes, I suggested him a few years ago, and someone else here brought his name up maybe six to eight months ago (I think).

This was my casting suggestion sheet from back when we were talking about a tv series:

I really don't see a movie happening at this point, though.

I don't have any great ideas considering the roles shouldn't be too difficult to fill - I don't think either have to be a particular height or build.

Perhaps Jack O'Connell for Union Jack? He might be too big a name for what would probably be a side character, though; Charlie Hunnam is the same, and would need to dye his hair.


As for the Black Knight: is Matt Bomer too old to play Dane? I think he might be good. I like Ryan (The Black List) Eggold too, though I think he'd make a cool Cyclops also.

I haven't commented on here before (Marvel fan who lives in the UK here too), but I thought I was the only one who wants to see Tom Hopper play Captain Britain. He's been my choice ever since I watched Black Sails. Quite bad actually, to the point at which I'd feel really disappointed if this film does happen and he doesn't get the part.

Yeah, he's really come along as an actor. I remember when he was in Merlin I wrote him off as a male-model, but in Black Sails he was really solid and held his own against the more experienced Toby Stephens (who was the best he's ever been, imo, as Captain Flint).

Edit: It was coolbeans74 who also suggested Tom Hopper, and it was more than a year ago. How time flies.

… not everyone can be blessed with the "star quality" that Hemsworth, Evans, Hiddleston, Rudd, Pratt, etc. had before the MCU.

"Star quality" didn't matter much then, it matters even less now.
