So... not the greatest start to the 40th year of Cap.

Earth 616 is no more.

We are now reading adventures in "The Prime Earth". Which sounds so tragically like DC comics in the 1990s, that I whince at saying it. Seriously, didn't they always say that they hated the way DC used similar terms for their universes? I'm sure somebody high up did.

It's a little disappointing. Starting that 40th year by removing Captain Britain's biggest contribution to the Marvel Universe, is not a great start.

I really WANT to like All New All Different Marvel, but they're not making it easy.

It's still 616 in other books, so I really dunno why Hickman called it that in Secret Wars #9. Web Warriors in particular is using the old Earth (number) terminology and Spider-Gwen continues to refer to it's universe as Earth-65 as needed (albeit not very often)

So, possibility of getting a Death's Head series seems to have increased: Marvel are teasing a new Thunderbolts series. Citizen V of the Thunderbolts was the only character on that notorious slide shown at SDCC other than DH not to have a series announced yet, after Black Panther, Black Widow, Black Knight, Starbrand and Nightmask, Hellcat, Squirrel-Girl, Hercules and the rest got announcements before Christmas.

Maybe everyone's favourite Freelance Peacekeeping Agent is biding his time before he reappears. Catch us all out, yes?

Maybe. I certainly hope so.

Thunderbolts coming back is great news. I have always had time for that series. Even in its less successful incarnations.

You know (wild thought) it would be kinda cool to have Death's Head ON that book. Stranger things have happened.

Hmm. So they're going to obliquely refer to some of that. Just not directly.

The question of course will be why? I seriously doubt Fox *could* directly refer to a character who in any realistic sense would be very difficult to state a claim for.

Oh, and don't forget folks that Marvel Fact Files #149 is also out in the UK now. Worth picking up.
