Man, in a very short time this has become my favorite comic.

Anybody thinking that there are no more fun comics at DC really need to read this.

Meh....I still think they could have just kept going with JLA and it would have been fine. And Hawkman and Lobo are involved, so there will be punching. Give it time and I'm sure with Supergirl, hawkman, Martian Manhunter, and Animal Man involved it will turn into the usual dark and gritty book that is the new DC.

I really wanted to see the JLA concept (government-controlled League) explored fully, but Trinity War/Forever Evil pretty much killed any chance of that book standing on its own.

Not going to happen. If Lemire was going to go for a government-controlled league, he would not have created a Cree superhero based, in part, on a girl who took on the Canadian Government when she was 13 years old. Or a Cree superhero period.

Seems like the glass ball that was JLA splintered hoping that everyone would pick up two or three of its shards.

Lemire has already said that this will be a fun galactic adventure.

The #0 was very good it had a late 70s feel to it , I highly recommend it.

I think that Lemire has decided to show Adam Strange before he becomes what he becomes. In a way, this issue was as much about the origins of Adam Strange as it is about the Origins of Mii Marten. I don't know what directions Lemire will take it.

Alanna was willing to face her captors - though saved from doing too much by Hawkman. Where does this confidence come from?

Lemire started with Adam and Allana single but I presume it won't take them long to marry. The marriage would be a point to get more of Allana's backstory since I presume her parents would show up.

BTW - anyone catch Indians and Aliens on APTN.ca?

I thought heroes can't marry.

BTW... Now would be a great time for DC to put Planet Heist up on Comixology, so my OCD will let me transfer my print Rann/Thanagar comics to digital.

That's right. They can be married, like Animal Man and Black Canary, but we aren't allowed to see them get married. Could detract from valuable punching and brooding time.
