Yes, it absolutely did. Did you miss the part where i talked about "paying 100 bucks more for a less powerful system?" What do you think made it cost more? The kinect. The price point mistake was *because* of the kinect. Consumer's didn't really like it that much, and it drove the price up.

All the other stuff you mentioned, while they generated some scandals on the internet, are basically irrelevant. People click links online based on scandals, they don't change their buying decisions based on them.

The price and the underpowered hardware were everything. But really, mostly the price. The above post was a summary/paraphrase of what led to the system being underpowered.

Nope, I'm point blank not getting a Xbone or any future Microsoft console as I don't trust them to not implent their stupid ideas in the future adn I've seen many people put off by the console based on their orginal plans as well as other factors. I previously had a 360 and was going to get a 2nd console to go with my Wii U with me leaning towards the Xbox as it has more action games to my taste rather than the Playstation but instead it has led me to invest in my PC.

^None of that touches on the kinect, mandatory on-line, indie games must come out on Xbone first or not at all, the patent to monitor the number of people watching a movie, restrictions on used game or most of the poor decisions they have made with the console.

Indies games are still only allowed to be released if they come out on the Xbone first. If Sony had started coming up with ideas as stupid as this then I'll avoid them too.

They did, they basically killed 2D games with the PSX because they wanted to push 3D games. They also wouldn't allow some companies to put solo 2D games out in North America, it's why stuff like Metal Slug 3 ended up on the Xbox but not the PS2.

Not sure how that indie games thing could even be true given they're getting stuff that's been out on PC for a while now.

My one minor complaint about Sony is ... why won't they have all the Final Fantasy games available for the PS3/PS4 to download. They have a couple sure. But I was lucky to get FFVII when I did since I have never seen it on the Playstation store. Right now I'd love to play FFXII for PS3 or PS4. I have the PS2 but I don't have a backwards compatable PS3 to play the game. Come on Sony , give me Final Fantasy 12 ok.

Games not getting approval due to not being part of the console's manufactors wants is apart of all consoles and is a lot different to planning and patenting to have a camera that cosntantly monitors you.

The parity clause is a joke, and basically impossible to enforce, and everyone (MS, developers, consumers) knows it.

An HD remaster of it is in the works. Should be out some time in early 2015.

That one I don't understand. It just came out last year on PS3, and it looked fantastic on that system. What's the point of paying 60 bucks more for some sharper textures and more shadows?

I never bought it for PS3. I'm waiting on it to price drop on PS4 .

I don't think they really started killing off 2D until the PS2 era. I remember the guys at Working Designs being quite ticked at them over it, around the time they went bankrupt.

I've been holding off buying either system. But I think the PS4 has a better future in terms of game lineup. The one game that I believe will get me to buy a PS4 is Metal Gear Solid 5. The PS3 had a big Metal Gear game as well and that was a big reason why I bought a PS3. If this game is anywhere near as good as Guns of the Patriots, then it will make the PS4 worth any price.

You can get that new Metal Gear Solid game on everything...besides WiiU.
