Oh lord. Why didn't they give that book to a woman is beyond me.
Plus Guggenheim... I think his YXM were one of the worst X-books I've read.

Hmmm, maybe time to quit this book. Brian Woods issues have been good but not as good as I had been hoping for when the comic started. None of the stories are a patch on his work from the previous X-Men title which is a shame.

After reading DeConnick's issues of Avengers Assemble I would love to see her take this series.

Well, that sucks. I thought Wood was finally starting to get past the problems with Remender and Bendis ganking Shadowcat and Rogue for their vanity projects.

I'll give Guggenheim one arc, at least. I like the characters and like the idea of an all-woman X-Men team (most definitely should have given a female writer a shot on this...but the bro culture continues it seems). Unfortunately I do remember Young X-Men--and that was a dumpster fire that I hope to never hear of again (and I hope Ink is tossed into limbo forever).

    X-Men in space again? Promising.

I really want to see Jubilee cut loose and participate combat-wise. I thought turning her into a vampire was supposed to revitalize her as a character, including emotional and physical content. So far, we have seen a lot of the drama surrounding being a vampire... but very little (in this title,) of her kicking butt and taking names with her super strength, speed, durability, hypnosis, and mist form. She fought a sentinel for a few panels a couple issues ago. It would also be nice to see her take on a more leadership-based role, continuing on with what Wood has been doing with her and the younger characters.
I kind of want the little hamster-ball to bugger off too. As of now they haven't given enough to be invested in him and he seems more or less Jubilee's Lockheed. He was introduced as Arkea's carrier, she apparently stole him, and while overly concerned he is "ok" and "normal" she seems to know he is not. Maybe this new character whom is apparently his father will either give Shogo a reason to be a story accessory or he takes him/it away.
I think we all could give Guggenheim a chance, it could be worse, it could be better, no way to tell at this point. Unlike other writer's coming into the series, he does reference past events and sounds like he wants to focus on the characters cores. Even if he is only in for 4 issues at least they will be Rachel's.
The only concern I find, as I compare what may be his track record is that the female characters on Arrow are rather 1D save for the tech-geek girl, but he doesnt really write the whole deal.
I am anticipating good things, his interviews remind me of Rucka talking about Cyclops and his passion for the character as opposed to Pak giving the vague "she strong" comments about Storm, and Cyclops met the mark. The art will really be the deciding factor though...a female-centric group needs to be rendered well.

Young X-Men's absence of the beloved New X-Men cast is the primary driving force for why fans didn't like it.

Letting go of all that "where are my x-kids???", I found the stories and new characters pretty fun.

Im not longer interested in this title. In the beginning I was excited for this book, however as time went on I lost interest. There were to many things I didnt like, especially the silly Jason Aaron style messing with powers....like Psylocke making a grappling hook/cross bow with her powers? Ugh. stick with the psychic knife man...why all of sudden are creators making heroes way to powerful/ mess with powers this ridiculous way...another example is Quiten Quire creating a psychic shotgun...yeah, that happened.

YXM had some of the NXM cast I was most interested in and thought could use some fleshing out. Then two of them got killed, one permanent-like, and Guggenheim tried to use a shitty "destined to go evil" trope on another. Not to mention that most of the cast (kids and senior team) were largely written as idiots for the first arc, the new guy decided the follow up the previous writers' five volumes of death and torture porn with still more death, his new characters were largely overpowered, the book barely had a hook, and the art was inconsistent.

If you liked it, cool, but there are reasons why others didn't beyond being pissy at Guggenheim for not being Kyost or for his casting picks.

Matteo Buffagni will be replacing Mann after 2 more issue and from what I've seen of Matteo's work it's pretty good and could fit really well on this series. Although now I feel ripped off because Mann is X-men and only getting 3 issues isn't nearly enough. I'm not counting the back-ups which now that I think about it seems like such a waste.

no it was his crappy writing. Young x-men was one of the worst books I've read. And I tried with them but no. I just couldn't
