Female Thor is the Marvels Wonder Woman.

I don't think she's that relatable, she's gone into space in her own title more often than not. At the moment Diana has gone through a change that's turn off many but interested many more. But in the beginning Diana had an author who had a set vision and control of the character for five years without much interference. It may not have been the most normal vision but it was set and whats more the universe wasn't constantly shifting and rebooting under the feet and her storylines weren't being hijacked for big events. Also Diana's costume was stable as was her name. Carol just can't compete with that. I think the other poster is right, Marvel tried to push Carol and now they're trying to push female Thor and when that doesn't work they'll try someone else.
Marvel needs Captain Marvel to succeed but they don't need her to be their "Wonder Woman." Not every superheroine needs to be compared to Wonder Woman, the same way that not every male character should be compared to Superman. Characters should be allowed to be themselves.
They're stuck in the X-Men where everything is all about the team dynamic. It's nearly impossible to be iconic on your own merits when you're sharing the spotlight with 50 others.
Marvel is actually very hard-pressed to have any major female heroes that aren't X-Men or otherwise stuck on a team. Carol is pretty much all they've got.
She is Kamala Khan... The Magnificent Ms. Marvel!
This has not been the case for decades and I'r really getting tired of people saying this. Marvel characters are no more or less relatable than DC characters. As for better female characters, call me when DC has something like Avengers 200 or House of M, the two worst uses of female characters in the history of super hero comics

Marvel has some of the best female characters in comics - characters to be extremely proud of. Somehow this thread feels more like an occasion to say "as great as they are, they aren't as great as Wonder Woman" and essentially take a dump on them.
Marvel never has had a Birds of Prey level book.
