Like with Cat Grant, the casting directors are open to ethnicity when it comes to CatCo photographer James Olsen. The character is described as smart, worldly, attractive and in his late 20s or early 30s. Olsen will be a bit of an alpha male in the series and also the object of Kara's affection.
We'll fondly look back at the days when we had mixed feelings about a black Iris West.

Wonder if this will be called "Supergirl:Elsewords". Looking forward to seeing...but there's a part of me that wonders if this is going to be another Wonder Woman tv series misstep.

I hope this is the world where Superman never existed and Supergirl takes his place.

No bow ties for this Jimmy...

It will be interesting to see how the relationship between Kara and Cat Grant will be. Will Cat be a mentor, or will she be a devil who wears Prada?

Jimmy Olsen as an alpha male? That's how you know this series will be a joke.

Jimmy is best as an affable dweeb. Making him a macho dude sounds so wrong.

The plans for Cat Grant sound cool though.

Jimmy Olsen was an alpha male in the early 70s -- when he was also known as Mr. Action. I read a few of those as a kid -- and preferred that version to the nerdy version.

All comic book movies and TV shows are 'Elseworlds'.
