[Deathstroke]

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has released his debut solo album Down In The Hole as of today. I picked it up at the local shop, but haven't listened to it yet. You can read more about it and see a couple of video clips HERE!



Guitarist Tony Macalpine has some good health news to share.

The former bassist for The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Roomful of Blues, Preston Hubbard, has passed away at the age of 63.

Former 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts has died from an apparent drug overdose.

Dave Mustaine and his son fire back at Havok. Details

Dave sounds angry. Angry Dave wants 15%. So angry.

In fairness, the Mustaines sound reasonable in this case, Dave's over-the-top reaction aside. I don't follow the other band at all, but they don't sound like they handled it too professionally.

The new Metallica album is due out November 18th and will be called Hardwired...To Self-Destruct.

Not going to lie, I am cautiously optimistic, but trying to keep my expectations low. This song is a step in a good direction, and the production sounds somewhat improved over Death Magnetic if still nowhere near to as good as they used to be. The drums are WAY too loud in the mix, and the guitar tone is still a kind of flattened, dull, BLAT BLAT tone, but it's definitely a metal song.

Definitely an upgrade... and that says a lot, since Thobbe is a great guitar player.
If the new guitarist will have any influence on their next album, expect the sound to be cinematic.
