That Iron Maiden game is basically Donkey Kong with Eddie. It's cool.

    Heard the leak.

I will still buy "The Red And The Black", which (although had it's own flaws) is the only track to have the cyclonic sweep-sound I expect from Iron Maiden.
The rest of the material plays like a collection of lesser known Maiden songs. Not disappointed like I was with the last Priest album, but not impressed either.
This is still going to be a well received outing among the die hard fans, I just can't justify the whole (2) CD buy for myself.

Fair enough. I'm going to be on vacation when it comes out so I'll have a couple days to read fan reviews. But I'll probably get it anyway.

I'm ignoring all reviews before purchasing the album, listening to it myself and then writing my own review.

Never bought the Love At First Sting CD because the sound left a lot to desire on those first pressings, but this reissue looks good with all the bonus tacks + music videos.
I'll probably upgrade the Blackout and Savage Amusement, as well.

I'd consider myself a die-hard Maiden fan, I think I was most disappointed with The Final Frontier, much happier with this release. But each to their own eh?

It is better than Final Frontier. Book Of Souls is not a bad album. Bruce is especially good. So is the performance. However, I didn't find the songs to be memorable. (Except "The Red And The Black, and perhaps the "Speed Of Light" to some degree) For me the biggest "problem" (not that I complain) is the staggering amount of great new releases this year. I bought more CD's this year than I did in the last 2 years put together... and it's only September. Something had to give.
