I'd consider myself a die-hard Maiden fan, I think I was most disappointed with The Final Frontier, much happier with this release. But each to their own eh?

I won't be getting the new album until the weekend, but do have to agree that I was very disappointed overall with The Final Frontier.

I admit I'm not the biggest Maiden fan (which is odd being a metal head, but I digress), but even I could tell their latest album isn't as inspired as their best work. The again, what band puts out their best work 40 years into their career?

No it is just the one Queensryche band now. Geoff Tate is now operating under the name Operation: Mindcrime and they've released two songs from their upcoming album. One that is decent but the other song is terrible.

I couldn't find them on youtube to see what they sounded like. I did find this one....Skid Row's new singer and sound.





And its not that bad honestly.

Tony has always had a impressive voice. He's still got it. Doesn't really do anything exceptional with this tired-ass song but he nails it. Kinda surprised he's with such a low rent band. He'd be so much better with a band like Boston, Foreigner or Styx.

Oh and then there's the official video for the new Iron Maiden song "Speed of Light" which you can check out via this Youtube link.

The song was mediocre. The video had "moments" the 8 bit Donkey Kong parody was OK. The FPS & Mortal Kombat parts were low-rent graphics. For a band as wealthy & creative like Maiden you would think they would have gone to the creators of DOOM & Mortal Kombat & have them produce some AAA like graphics for this video instead of the amateur-like graphics on display here. It looks like a 4th rate video for a 4th rate band.

Very good. I think getting kicked out of Queensryche was the best thing that has happened to Geoff Tate in recent years. It seems to have re-energized him.

I can not disagree. The song was not bad at all. Nothing spectacular but I'd be interested in hearing more.
