I'm still loving the art and character/scenery designs in this book, but I don't think I enjoyed the second issue as much as the first one. I'm still definitely sticking with the series, but this one disappointed me a little bit I think. I think I was just expecting a little bit more.

Didn't see it mentioned here, but was I the only one who thought that this might be related to Dr. Hurt and his worship of Barbatos (or Omega Adapter or whatever its official name is supposed to be)?

I thought of that too, the earliest inhabitants of the Gotham area were the Bat-People right?

Yeah, I really got the vibes of Return of the Bruce Wayne while reading those last scenes.

This issue was better than the first, Maps is the best character, Olive's got the whole mysterious past thing going on, and there's definitely some weird stuff going on. Not quite sure what all the mysteries are exactly, like the cult this issue and the whatever haunting creature first issue, but intriguing. And while the slower pace seems to be putting off some people here, I love it. Maybe it's because of my love for old films and old Gothic stories and such, but there hasn't been a long, plodding eerie mystery in ages! I guess everyone nowadays wants big reveals right away (seriously, we're only 2 issues in and people want some 'big' revelation already? Damn what happened to suspense and letting a mystery build or giving things a chance to build some wicked good atmosphere first?). And of course, the art is gorgeous.
    Can't wait till next month!

I agree with you on everything as well. I'm really enjoying this title a lot and, for me, it one of the best books DC is putting out right now. It's fun and I'm really starting to like the characters, particularly Maps, a lot. I'm looking forward to next months issue.
