word, after reading Siege of Darkness, it's as big as any of the events they've done teasers for.

Because marvel could give a rats ass about the Supernatural side . I've always said the story is there....remember those dimensional walls that strange should be protecting, well he's been extremely slacking these last few years. Hell for a time there wasn't even a sorcerer supreme after Voodoo "died", does anybody realize how bad that is? Well those walls have been destroyed and all types of Demons, ghouls,Monsters etc are loose on the Marvel Universe.

I wish I had an inside road to writing for Marvel.. I'd love to write an occult-heroes team up series.

    Thread Necro!

So, what did you guys think about Voodoo's portrayal in UA #1? Personally I found him different from last time, but equally awesome. Plus, I found his "story" in the book to have the most promise. Though the scenery did remind me a lot of Darksiders 2 tbh.

Not quite sold on his look yet, but I'm sure Remender has some big plans with him coming soon. Can't wait to see what those are, might even bring some more supernatural type characters into the fold.

Werewolf by Night #1 Feb 1998
    Somewhere South Of Heaven
The Strange Tales line expands as Jack Russell returns in this all-new, horrific ongoing series! Jack Russell knows the precise moment of his own damnation,
the moment when dusk gives way to night and he experiences the terrifying transformation into a werewolf. Each time Jack undergoes the change, he experiences
the briefest glimpse of Hell -- a glimpse that seems to last for an eternity. It's more than any man can bear, and so Jack seeks release before insanity claims him once and for all!
Jack has sought anonymity in New York's lower East Side among the derelicts and tenements.

With his condition worsening, he knows he must confront his curse.

Searching through a book of arcane knowledge, he comes across a description of a demon who may control the wolf aspect in humans,

but only if the person learns the demon's name and asks for release. With the demon's name hidden in the four corners of the netherworld, Jack's mission is clear.
But he will soon discover that when you walk willingly into Hell, you may never come out!

THE CHARACTERS: Jack Russell -- a man battling to overcome a family curse which transforms him into a wolf on nights of the full moon. It is his heroic struggle that forms the core of this series.
Roxanna -- a successful freelance travel agent who loves Jack for his sense of humor and strength of character. Unaware of his dark secret, she supports and cares for him.
Father Adobe -- a priest who will soon learn of Jack's lycanthropic curse. As much as Roxanna, Adobe will be a light in Jack's life...despite the fact that he can't seem to get Jack to attend Sunday services.

Still not getting these stories right. I want a Mignola type of story and they are giving us Hipster crap.

It’s all in the tone and mood, and Marvel insists on giving us stories that are as if written by Tumbler-algorithm AI.

I wish the '90s Strange Tales imprint did better.
It had solid writing and great art by Manco (Werewolf) and Sharp (Man-Thing), but the whole thing was poorly managed.

The cover price for the books was a whole dollar higher than Marvel's regular titles at the time (with the same number of story pages), meaning it would cost a reader three regular comics to get the two Strange Tales books.

And it was rolled out so slowly.

Man-Thing started in October 1997 and Werewolf didn't start until December.
    And then nothing.
Until a one-shot in March (which was another dollar higher, granted it was 48 pages).

And, why were the two books under seperate editors?
There were only two titles in the imprint.

Of course, they also chose Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing to spearhead the new imprint when Dr. Strange was in need of a relaunch (his book had ended in 1996), Ghost Rider could have been relaunched (his title ended the same month Werewolf launched) and Blade's first movie was just around the corner.

They could've had a full line:
    Man-Thing
    Werewolf by Night
    Dr. Strange
    Ghost Rider
    Blade
    Morbius
    Cloak & Dagger
    Defenders

Of course, the cover prices would have to have come down to regular prices.
