    Personally, I would have phrased it: "The digital first series don't seem to last so long, thus probably sell on par with or lower than the lowest-selling new52 books. Seems that either the readers want it to "matter" or don't put their money where their mouths are."

    The lower numbers for the print versions may be in part because some people already bought them ahead of time in digital chunks?

    Also, how many of these digital first books are designed to run for a set amount of time, as opposed to a regular on-going series?

    I may be wrong, but I think stuff like the Beyond comics and Smallvile s01 have been going from the start of the New 52 to now and/or recently.
