Just got these from IST. Cant wait to dig into 100 bullets.
It really is the best way of experiencing the story, in the deluxe books' 20ish issue long arcs.

Btw. Sorry if off topic but: Anyone up for a tread about the book someday? Would love to share theories about the book.

    I'd be up to that.

Should I get the first TPB?
Have you read Moore's Fashion Beast or A Small Killing (wasn't an Avatar at first but the newest edition is)?

Probably this one since this board used to have bunch of review/discussion threads, though I'm not sure if it's old enough for the board.

I'll give it a try here then. I think it could work since while the forum says classics it also says: "collected editions of your favorite stories!".

Reminds me. I should take a photo of some of my shelfporn.

If you're unsure just ask a moderator. In this case NZInferno or SJNeal mod the Collected Editions thread.

Vark already answered this, but I suppose I'll weigh in too. Although it's definitely a disturbing book, I don't think that's quite what makes it special, especially seeing as many books are that already. The word I'd use instead is oppressing, which it increasingly is the further you read, closing in on the reader and the characters of the book (this latter part is somewhat reflected in Burrow's artwork, I think) until that utterly hopeless ending is reached, at which point the story abruptly ends. It kind of leaves you exhausted, you know? No doubt there's comics out there that do this even better, but for comparison's sake, the only horror comic I've read better than Neonomicon is John Smith's Cradlegrave published in 2000AD several years ago.

To be honest, though, even if I were to go read some of the more highly recommended of horror comics, I'm not sure I'd find much really better than those two, especially the latter. It's a notoriously difficult genre to pull off well in any medium, and I think that comics are probably the second hardest place to do so after novels, the more easier places being films and video games. Yet interestingly enough, they're just as likely the better places to create something truly disturbing and unforgettable. Those are my thoughts anyway.

Can anyone help with location of Final Incal at a decent price, just the 12" one (to match the deluxe Metabarons, Before the Incal etc)? My preorder got canned, and I'm ultra confused now with the multitude of ISBNs there now. The ISBN I had ordered was 9781594650772. And I'm now no longer sure that is even the right one.

Edit: Or even if that ISBN is released yet.

    Latest:
This is my first Top Shelf order from the sale. Kept trimming the list from the bunch of stuff I excitedly put in my cart. I keep going back and filling the cart again for another order, then stopping myself. Lots of other books to buy elsewhere.

couldnt be more excited to get this. Been waiting forever for it. I have the single issues from #13. Was a bit bummed at the announcement that this would only collect the first six issues. Hope it doesnt take to long for Round Two to come out.

Going by the Humanoids site the ISBN for the Oversized Deluxe Edition is 9781594650864, that however is the limited to 1500 copies Slipcase Hardcover that recently came out. It looks like the ISBN you had ordered in one coming out in November Measuring 15 inches High by 12 Inches Wide.

Definitely agree on the horror genre. I think the only 100% horror comic I liked was Locke&Key, which was just awesome.

Here's what some searching dug up. Hope it's helpful. Based on what I found I would consider the dimensions of your cancelled book unknown. Unless Amazon or Bookdepository does a good job of listing proper dimensions?

Thanks danmar85 - yes that November 5th edition that I'd ordered is the one really confusing me. The fact that there are several sizes listed for it. Not to mention that isn't listed on the Humanoids site.

I have tried to order the "Oversized Deluxe Editiion" today from another store, and hopefully I'll get it. That is the one I wanted...
