Never heard of Black Science. Any good? (I'm assuming it is, if it's by Remender)

I've only read the first issue and I liked it. But I love all Rememder's own stuff so I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Providence is the, so far, prequel to Neonomicon, a horror comic based on the Lovecraft mythos. By comparison to that Providence has been more slow-building so far but I personally think it'll be even better by the end. If you're uninterested in the Lovecraft mythos, though, then I wouldn't bother with that tier or the one below if you're thinking of pledging unless you really want those art prints. Looking at the comments of the page, I noticed vark asked if the highest tier will be possible to purchase after the Kickstarter has ended on the 17th if the 26 places aren't taken, so I'm guessing he's fighting against himself very hard not to buy the most expensive edition. :P Alas, I have no right to make fun because I went with the third highest tier to get a signed copy of the already limited alternate cover of Providence Act 1 to match my similarly limited Neonomicon hardcover like the mad fool that I am.

You are an absolute mind reader Endsville ! Although I am currently fighting against the lack of money. But it is Kevin O'Neill ... And yes Providence is a really strange reading. But as always, Moore craftsmanship in term of narrative and frame structure don't stop to amaze me. I really enjoy Providence myself but it is mostly what it seems like traveler's chitchat if you don't know the Lovecraftverse. I had read most of Lovecraft book when I was a teenager, so even I don't remember a lot of thing, I am a little bit familiar with that universe. Seen some interesting auctions on eBay yesterday: Hellspawn HC went for 23 quid, which is amazing, but there was this Daredevil Man Without Fear by Miller slipcase edition published in '94 if I remember correctly, limited to 1000 pieces and it went for only 88! Crazy, wish I had more money.

No I haven't... I've always steered clear of Manga (are these considered manga's?). But I might have to check Matsumoto's books out based on this short story here.

They're comics from Japan so I'd assume that makes them manga's

Aside from the standard Otomo stuff (Akira and Domu obviously) I wasn't really into manga as well until few years ago. The Comicbooks are Burning in Hell episode on Matsumoto piqued my interest (he apparently is heavily influenced by Moebius, that always gets my attention ) so I picked up the Tekkon Kinkreet collection based on that and never looked back.

Oh, if you've been following that site then you should check out this great essay on The Comics Journal if you get the chance about not only Providence but The Courtyard and Neonomicon too and some of Moore's other works that compare to them.

Then you might like Providence so, I guess, if you are thinking of backing the project, picking up the hardcover collecting the first four issues won't hurt, especially since you'd get it in only a couple of months.

This just happened. Very happy to have them all, one of the best runs ever, vol 6 is library edition, but in very good condition. I prefer smaller books right now, would rather have couple HC's than one chunky omnibus, that's why I'm not gonna upgrade Gotham Central. Anyway, another amazing run collected.

This just happened. Very happy to have them all, one of the best runs ever, vol 6 is library edition, but in very good condition. I prefer smaller books right now, would rather have couple HC's than one chunky omnibus, that's why I'm not gonna upgrade Gotham Central. Anyway, another amazing run collected.

Collects first 12 issues. Never seen news about vol 2.

It's decent - I watched all Trailer Park Boys seasons week ago - with very good art. I'd recommend.

I think it's supposed to be bigger, like LE size, but I haven't seen the actual book.

I got mine yesterday from Chapters here in Canada. Its bigger than a Marvel OHC, more in line with a Dark Horse Library. However, the paper quality isn't as good as a Dark Horse Library edition and the pages are a lot thinner than my Hellboy and Goon library editions

When it comes to best bang for buck when it comes to a deluxe oversized hardcover, Dark Horse takes the cake

Those chew hc's are, so the pic gives you a pretty good comparison to a "regular" deluxe

Terry Moore has announced today on Twitter that we should expect Rachel Rasing omnis in similar size like those for SiP. Sweet! Love this guy's writing, so natural and simple, Echo is one great book, can't wait to read more stuff from Moore.

ive been waiting forever to read rachel rising, hoping it would come out in an omni format, because thats how i first experienced echo (via a signed\alternate cover from his comicon booth). excited!

From that lot only Rosalie Lightning and Lone Sloane are (available) in English. Silas Corey is fantastic though.

Silas Corey is a spy, a private detective, an opportunist, a patriot and a whole lot more. He and his Vietnamese servant who is specialised in various martial arts take on a job to find a very rare stamp that should contain various French top secrets. Not only is the French opposition interested in finding this stamp, but also arms dealers that negotiate with the Germans are very interested. Silas receives them all (seperately) and takes on all their (same) jobs. But who does he really work for? And what is on that stamp?

It's quite the mystery and very very well done imho. The book above is volume 1/2 of the second story arc. The series is available in French, Dutch, German, Spanish and probably also Italian. Perhaps you understand any of those languages? Otherwise spam Titan Comics' Facebook page for an English translation!
