This is the listing on amazon:

Before Star Wars, there was The Star Wars! This is the authorized adaptation of the rough-draft screenplay by George Lucas--the story that would eventually become a motion picture that would change the world.
Annikin Starkiller is the hero . . . Luke Skywalker is a wizened Jedi general . . . Han Solo is a big green alien . . . and the Sith . . . Well, the Sith are still the bad guys. High adventure and derring-do from longer ago, in a galaxy farther away!
The Star Wars was one of the breakout comic-book hits of the past year. The deluxe edition contains Issues #0-8 of The Star Wars saga, a portfolio of the comic covers, and an introduction by writer Jonathan Rinzler all collected in three deluxe, foil-stamped, hardcover volumes and enclosed in a clothbound clamshell box measuring 9”x13.5”x3”.

    Well, Witzend finally arrived:

No damage to the packaging, so I think they picked it in this condition! Already asked for a replacement, but I think they're out of stock. Aphrohead Books c/o Play.com, if you're interested.

I disagree. It was fascinating and had great artwork. I never understood Lucas's insistence that Hidden Fortress was a major influence on Star Wars until I read this version.

IDW is going to start publishing Corto Maltese. Apparently the first of 12 volumes will be out in December. I'm very much looking forward to these volumes.

Funny how we read the same stuff... just posted this the discover eurocomics thread. Too bad it's paperback, but at least in original format/size.

Sadly, there are some errors in the solicits, so for Casanova we don't have some important info like publication date, page count, price. And this is Image, so I can't figure out the size of the book: it will be "ultra-deluxe oversized edition", "At long last, all the covers, all the content, all the comics, between two gorgeous covers".

I'm not sure how many of you have read March book 1, a GN about the civil rights movement with MLK and Senator John Lewis, but this interview with John Lewis and Andrew Aydin was on CNN yesterday, with the new cover for book 2. Also interviewed is Brad Meltzer about his Rosa Parks book.

    Watch the 7-minute video here:

Definitely picking this up, Volume 1 was a solid enjoyable read with the only downside being I felt Jenkins art was hit and miss at the start, but he managed to smooth it out towards the end so Volume 2 should be gold from start to finish.

Strange Girl is nice, it's about Ricks relationship with (or lack of) religion, a lot of demons, fun stuff, and i liked the art too.

Is the old X-O material worth it? I enjoy the new series but have only read the first issue of the older.
