Rest of September's haul. Stuff which I had brought from Poland. Couldn't fit Gunslinger omni but I have it.

Dark Justice is incredible, almost photo realistic art. Heavy Dredd is my kind of book: crazy, blasphemous with no remorse. Some stories are super mad, like this one about pinball-like machine which makes users come. Had much higher expectations about Powers, it's good but not Alias level good.

And Eternal War in HC! At last, this book is amazing.

Powers gets better as it's going on. Both story and art. I remembered it being a bit better on my first read but it is still really, really engaging. Binge read the omnibus and the vol4-5-6 ohc-s.

I have recently acquired the Batman Noir: The Killing Joke US edition, published last August. I was a bit reluctant to dip in again as I already own the French B&W edition published last year. But now I am very happy to have bought it for two reasons:

If the French edition is a B&W adaptation of the original edition, this Batman Noir edition uses the 2008 art pages reworked by Brian Bolland for the Deluxe edition
This edition features 50 pages of extra content not included in the French edition.

European books look so great. Really need to make some space for them.

Also wondering what the delay is on another classic VEI OMNIBUS

seems like it's not the same continuity and also different creative team:

In other news Forbidden Planet.com is dead to me.
Phoned them on Thursday and they said my order will be shipped that afternoon and everything is okay with it. 2 days later it still haven't shipped and then went on backorder. So I just cancelled my order and paid 15quid more on an ebay auction but at least that will be actually sent out (I've already bought from that seller).
    Seriously, what the hell FP?

My girlfriend just bought Godland Celestial 1, Big Hard Sex Criminals 1, and Wicked + Divine Deluxe 1 for my birthday (and gave me back my copy of Locke and Key Master Edition 2).

    It's been a good day.

I got mine (standard HC, Lovecraft print and bookmark) through the other day. It's a lovely book. Besides a couple of errors (one line from the story appears on two consecutive pages like he couldn't decide where to put it and forgot to get rid of one, and the fact it says BEN TEMPESMITH on the cover and inside logos...) it's a stunning production throughout.

One thing I find with his art sometimes, is although it's absolutely suited to this type of story, the whole inky morass he puts over the top of everything hides some really finely crafted pencils and inks. If you look in the back there is a breakdown of the construction of the image from the back cover of the narrator writing, and the pencils and inks are stunning, then the end product is very dark and a lot of it gets lost. As I said, it suits this story perfectly, but if there's any books where Templesmith pencilled and someone else coloured it that people can recommend, I'd like to see that.

How accurate is this list? Valiant just solicited Ninjak Deluxe Edition for December 7.
