    Walt Disney’s Christmas Classics
Frank Reilly (w) • Floyd Gottfredson; Manuel Gonzales; Floyd Norman; John Ushler (a) • Various (c)
A delightful book for Disney fans of all ages. The Disney Christmas newspaper strip debuted in 1960 with “Peter Pan’s Christmas Story,” in which Captain Hook tries to sabotage Christmas. It was such a success that new stories were created yearly, each self-contained, each featuring characters from another animated movie, and each leading up to Christmas Eve and Santa off to deliver his presents. The “Disney-villain-wants-to-spoil-Christmas” plot was exploited with inventive variations each year. Stories include “Cruella’s Very Furry Christmas,” “Snow White’s Christmas Surprise,” “Dumbo and the Christmas Mystery,” “Cinderella’s Christmas Party,” “The Three Little Pigs’ Christmas Story,” and many more. All 28 special holiday stories are collected in a book for the first time.

Corto Maltese’s return to Venice is ostensibly a search for an emerald known as the Clavicle of Solomon, but by the end he is left questioning whether the object of his quest will open the hidden doors of magic and unravel the nature of time and space in this city of secrets… or if it’s merely “the stuff that dreams are made of,” as was the black bird of Dashiell Hammett’s novel featuring another Maltese.

The first TPB is a 5 story arc about Abe during his first solo adventure at the 80s... TPB 2 and the TPB 9 contains short stories and flashbacks! The first volume is interesting to read and has consequences at future Abe adventures, but the other two are just fun. The plot from the ongoing series need more knowledge about the beginning from Hell on Earth than Abe early stories... since they're publishing the new BPRD hardcovers and both comics happen at the same time and have some common ground, IMO it's ok to publish the other stories later.

The plot from the ongoing series need more knowledge about the beginning from Hell on Earth than Abe early stories... since they're publishing the new BPRD hardcovers and both comics happen at the same time and have some common ground, IMO it's ok to publish the other stories later.
As I had stopped reading the bprd trades before hell on earth, this explains why I had no idea what was going on in the first couple of abe trades, so will reading vol 1 of hell on earth explain why abe is on his own?

When are we going to get those Corto Hardcovers that IDW promised us when the series was first announced?

didn't they say after the whole series is done is paperbacks? And won't it only be a limited run? So prepare to pay a stupid amount for it since it's IDW where everything is overpriced and they can't even be bothered to shrinkwrap the books.
That said the Corto paperbacks are higher quality then most Marvel and DC hardcovers. If you have a chance try to check them out in an LCS.

OK, so what exactly are we getting Hellboy and Hellboy related that are thick hardcovers? I know there is a library edition. Is there also another BPRD and an Abe book as well?

There are other thinner hardcovers, too, right? or are they all the thicker ones?

Hellboy in Hell aka library edition 7

BPRD hardcovers of the Hell on Earth story line that follows Plague of Frogs. same deal, 3 tpbs in one hardcover, standard size

2 Abe Sapient hardcovers collecting his ongoing, or trades 3-8, and apparently another unannounced hardcover collecting trades 1, 2, and 9 later on. Same deal as the BPRD books, standard size
