I'm just appreciating the new creative team more and more each time I get a glimpse of the previous run. That scene is terrible and the artwork was horrid all around.

Batgirl's cowl looks weird and Black Canary's face is just wrong. They all look drunk in that panel where they're hugging LOL

Just caught up with the last two issues. This has definitely found its way onto my pull list. The art is incredible, the story is taking a similar approach to Grayson with semi-one-and-domes that build together.

I think I'm most impressed with the layouts. This has more frames per page than seemingly any comic on the market. Definitely getting your dollars worth with this book.

I meant writing, too. Thought that would be a given. Although, I have heard people say they like the old art better because this art is too 'cute'.

Hmph. Writing wise, I think the choice of a grimmer outlook was a mistake---the triumph over a crippling injury should have been more joyful and satisfying (the grimmer aspects would be more in the PTSD after-effects....but working that out should be a high note, wouldn't it?)

Honestly, during Gail Simone's entire run i've heard a lot of criticism about the writing being much too dark, dramatic and serious for Batgirl.

I know. You also need an education degree in addition to an MSIS to be a school library media specialist. However, personally, I'm just so over the whole school thing.

Ugh I (for the most part) enjoyed Simone's run, but that art very nearly made me drop it outright. Was downright horrible. Definitely enjoying the new run more so far, both in terms of story tone and the artwork is so much more interesting (and pleasing to the eye)
